When you put your packet together did you do anything special ? I'm sure this topic has been covered someplace- but I'm too lazy right now. :)

I couldn't ever really find anything about "how" to do it- basically just send the paperwork. I didn't want my paperwork all shoved into an envelope for someone to have to sift through... I thought I should somehow organize it and make it as easy on the person reviewing it to find what they needed.

I put all of mine in a binder with a letter of intent and a table of contents- everything was organized and labled with tabs. I also used sheet protectors....

Wonder if the workers like arranged packets ? I'm sure they take all of the stuff out- but it seems some organization where they can see what they have in front of them would make life so much easier when they are trying to do their job....

HMMMMM- what I'm really hoping for is that my packet was so well put together that they will push me right through..... ROFLMAO

We are mailing out package today.

We just used paperclipped each section together, used those post-it tape stickies as tabs and wrote the section title on it and then attached everything together with a binder clip.

I figured they can just sift through the tabs and take the paper clips off if necessary.

It looked decent and pretty organized. I would've done it a bit differently if I had more time to invest in it, probably used Acco Fasteners, but I just couldn't be bothered to go buy them/look into them.

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11

I put one big paperclip over the whole packet and I got those little sticky tabs by Post-it. They're clear on one end, then colored on the other so you can use them to mark sections. I put everything in the same order that it was in on the cover letter, and made a tab for each thing listed in the letter. Yeah...I'm neurotically organized...but it's coming in handy for this! :)

Seriously, I wouldn't waste your money on a ton of office supplies -- which is hard for me to say, since I (L) (L) (L) Staples. Binders and sheet protectors aren't necessary and are more of a hindrance than anything. Organize and label everything, sure, but don't go crazy. It has to fit into a regular old folder, and trust me, once they get your package, they rearrange things the way they want it anyways.

And I thought I was the only one...I can't even count how many times I've had this conversation:

me: I'm bored...let's go to Officemax or Staples

Friend: ok...what do you need?

me: Nothing...I just want to look.

Friend:

I punched all of the papers at the top with an ACCO hole puncher (my dad had one, I didn't go out and buy one) and then separated all the secionts with paper clips in the order that the list on my cover letter stated.

Don't go blowing your money on all sorts of stuff...keep it simple.
