Hello,

We send our AOS, but i read on the net that VJ's members told about I-693a.

My concern is that we didn't find this form on the USCIS, so we send the I-693.

Is it Ok?

What are the differences?

Thank you

I-693 is the full medical

I-693A is a code for the vaccination supplement

If you're on a K1 visa and had a medical in your own country you just need to submit the supplement. The I-693 you sent in should be fine since it's more than you needed to.

Ty for your reply.

I didn't do all the examination again, I only asked the civil surgeon to fill out only the vaccination part (on the form I-693).

If i understand it's the same form, and the I-693A is the code for the vaccination supplement on the form I-693?

Thats what I asked them to do to. However they still filled out the I-693 too. As in India, we only have a chest x-ray and they had to do a TBskin test for me and the HIV test again too coz I did not have a copy if my medical report from India. Checked my BP, height and weight too. Standard way of doing it.

They only charged me $125 though this included a TD shot too

The instructions and form for the I-693 were revised on April 2, 2008. Essentially, the I-693a no longer exists as the vaccination information is in part 2 of the I-693. In the instructions for the I-693 (see link):

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693instr.pdf

"a. You are not required to have another medical

examination as long as your Form I-485,

Application to Register Permanent Residence or

Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your

overseas medical examination.

b. You will, however, be required to complete Part

1, Information about you, and submit the

vaccination section of Part 2 with your

adjustment of status application. A designated

civil surgeon must complete the vaccination

section and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's

Certification."

K visa holders who do not require a medical exam need to have the I-693 parts 1, 2 (vaccination section), and 5 completed.

Hope this helps,

John
