Had my AOS interview this morning in Chula Vista, CA. The office was really quiet, not alot of people waiting, probably explains why we got an interview date so soon after sending in our AOS and EAD applications. Appointment was for 11am, and at 11am we got called in. I wasnt nervous at all until we went inside the interview office, tryed to make small talk with the lady interviewer, but she wasnt havent any of it! With her being all so serious just made me more nervous! Before we sat down she asked me and my husband to raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth. She then proceeded to ask me my name, address, phone number and date of birth. She then asked how we met and when and how I first met my husband in person. She then asked my husband whether he visited the UK and whether he met my family before we married. After the questions were asked she wanted to see our original birth certificates (both petitioner and beneficiary) and asked to have a photocopy of each. She also wanted to see the original of our marriage certificate and a photocopy of my husbands passport information page. After that she asked us what proof we had of our marriage. We got out our wedding album and I was surprised to see her go through the whole thing. She even asked if she could take 5 of the photos in it, of course we said yes! We also showed her our joint bank account statements and joint car insurance policy. Thats all we had in both of our names and it was fine. I also gave her a letter from JC Penny and Lane Bryant declining me for store cards. After she put all our documents in the file she said that the case was approved but I wouldnt get the green card until I have had my Biometrics done and the FBI name check came back. Before the interview I was worried as I hadnt been scheduled my Biometrics but luckily she had a letter for me asking me to attend on the 16th Feb. She also said she was approving my EAD aswell which took me by surprise! The whole thing only took about 20 minutes so we were out in time to have a celebration lunch! :dance:

December 16th 05 - NOA's received for both AOS and EAD

December 31st 05 - Receive letter for AOS interview

February 6th 06 - AOS Interview - APPROVED

February 16th 06 - Biometrics Appointment

February 22nd 06 - EAD Approved via e mail

February 27th 06 - EAD card in mail!!!

March 6th 06 - Got a job!

March 17th 06 - Green Card Approval via e mail

March 18th 06 - 'Welcome to America' letter arrives

March 24th 06 - Green Card Arrives!

11/08/2006 Welcome to USA letter arrives!

11/13/2006 GREEN CARD RECEIVED - NO MISTAKES!!!!

06/06/08 Family moved back to UK!!

Husband gained UK citizenship September 2015

Congratulations!!!

I only wish that we could have the same luck!

We recently moved to an apartment in Orange County and submitted our change of address forms the DAY before receiving the interview letter for the San Diego office.

So when they received our change of address information, they canceled the San Diego interview and now we wait for new interview information from the Santa Ana Office...

Silly waiting game... But I suppose its better than showing up at the Chula Vista office and having them question us on why we are there when we live in Orange County!
