We made a request for our case to be expedited and USCIS emailed us asking for additional information. we are writing a letter and sending document to to prove financial burned. However, we have a few questions.

Questions:

1. Is it possible that filing this expedite can turn around and work against us? What i mean is... if our Financial need is so bad then how can my SO afford to take care of me when i get there?

2. If the recession is affecting my SO to the point where she can find a job wont they ( USCIS) look on it in a negative way...cause when i get to the US she may still not be able to support me until I get a job?

3. How much sooner would the case go if it is approved?

4. Do they keep the expedite info in your file when it goes to the embassy...and if so, can they ask you about it and then deny u based on it?

Thanks for the help

Hey there.

Well if your wife is not working and having financial hardship this could get you an expedite. She will however have to show her tax returns and current in any W2's from her job. She will likely need a co-sponser to sponser you if her income falls below poverty lines. You may be able to get an expedite thru USCIS, but once your case gets to NVC you may have an issue with the financial part. Getting the expedite will not hurt you. If any thing it just gets you out of USCIS faster than normal. You will still have to go thru NVC like everyone else. Likely you cannot get a finanacial expedite thru NVC...but the NVC process is not that long.

If you lie in your expedite, yes it can work against you.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Unless you lied it shouldn't work against you. They will either approve or deny the expedite or if you are unlucky like us they will approve your expedite and then instead of forwarding it to the NVC just sit on it for 2 months :P

Seriously, what I said first goes.....

the response to my request was to send it to the local office to approve, I went today and they told me they don't have my case, California does, I then called California and they say they don't have it, Cincinnati does. So my case is somewhere in la la land.
