I dunno - that's a tough situation... People have gotten divorced for much less... and while An Affair To Remember was a cute movie - I can't imagine that life-changing injuries will bring out a happy ending in every instance. Clearly that wasn't the case here.

He came back in 73. They divorced in 80. It was hardly a 'I don't want to deal with your illness so shove off' knee jerk reaction.

And can you really say you know the ins and outs of why they divorced? No, you can't.

Maybe it happened the way this says, maybe he had adjustment issues coming home after all those years being tortured (and really, who fkin wouldn't?). My dad came home to being spat upon by the American people. Literally. Don't sit here and judge what you cannot.
