Hi Everyone!

I'm a big believer that changing your eating habits is far more effective than dieting in the long run :star:

So for everyone interested in healthier cooking, let's share tips and recipes!

For example:

Cut the fat out of any meat before cooking, is much more effective than cutting it afterwards (and definetly healthier than eating it!)

Instead of mashed potatoes, try half potatoes - half butternut squash: tastes great! (and needs less butter)

Caro

instead of mash potato - steam cauliflower until very tender. add s&p, bit of butter & mash like potato

marinade veggies like zucchini, squash, eggplant, bell peppers, mushrooms, red onion overnight in equal parts soy sauce & balsamic vinegar and a bit of olive oil. roast at 450 until done

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

use olive oil to cook your food VS vegi oil, but remember it is better to drizle the oil over the food VS over a hot pan. That way the meat or vegies will absorb all of the great anti oxidants in olive oil. But if you put the olive oil in a hot pan, many of the great nutrients will burn off.

Flax seed oil, by far one of the greatest things, it has improved my skin hair nails, lowers bad cholesterol levels ad blood pressure

well here is a link to the benefits,

You can get the seed or oil version, but if you get the seeds make sure to grind it up.

One of the best things to do is to eat smaller amounts of tastier more satisfying food.

Make sure to enjoy every piece of food you eat, only eat when you're hungry, and eat slowly. Stop as soon as you're full. Don't just eat out of boredom.

Grat tips guys!

Here's a trick to try instead of frying:

Get an oven pan, paint it lightly with the oil of your choice. get an aluminum sheet, paint it lightly with oil as well. put the food on the pan and cover with the aluminum sheet, close it tighly (so the food is sealed between the two oiled surfaces). It is almost as effective as frying, same taste, but a lot healthier.

Another plus: no oil dumping dilema

Caro
