They should:

1. Eliminate VWP.

2. Disallow AOS for individuals here on visitor visas.

3. Strengthen income/asset requirements for the Affidavit of Support.

4. Disallow divorced foreigners with conditional LPR status to remove conditions unless they were the victim of physical/mental abuse.

5. Allocate a sh1tload of new funds for ICE. Use it.

Interesting POV from you Troll? Seemingly pro-amnesty, however anyone here legally should have their legal route to become PR removed. Care to explain?

indeed. :pop:

What's your gripe with 1 and 2? 1 has arguably close to nothing to do with immigration and going with 2 would only lengthen the time everyone has to wait for their K visas. Makes no sense to me.

I can't imagine this process being any harder on us then it was.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I would argue that ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION is 12 million too easy.

Just wanted to point out that 1 out of 5 INVESTIGATED was false. If they are investigating you, there should be a reason.

Are you kidding my about the income requirements and no co-sponsor??? Its nice for you that you are middle class and at a point in your lives where that's an option. However I'm a student and will be for 3 more years. You're telling me I should have to wait that long to get married, give up on my dream of being a doctor or else have my husband move here illegally??? W/e

I agree with 2, 4, and 5.

Don't agree with 1 - because eliminating vwp would increase costs that could be better put to use in other uscis responsabilities

3- Because the current income requierment is to prove you make the minumun to support 2 people. Asking for anything more would be limiting to family unity.

I'm waiting for the answer to this one, too; should be good for a laugh ;)

And precisely what does one's income level have to do with the legitimacy of their relationship? It should be high enough to ensure the foreign fiancee does not become a public charge, but not more than that.

I just wanted to say that figure jumped out at me as well - it is 1 out of 5 INVESTIGATED - not 1 out of 5 marriages! They only investigate when they have suspicions (cause they don't have the resources to investigate any without suspicions), so let's say there are 100 marriage, 5 of which are investigated, 1 of which is a false marriage - that is 1%. Without knowing what the total number of marriages there are, that 1 in 5 quote is totally useless - except as a way to try and incite your ire by implying it is 1 in 5 foreign marriages that are frauds.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Visitors are perfectly able to go back and apply from their home countries. Visitor visa holders tend not to be the poor and the destitute; these are people who can afford air fare.

I was questioning more than that one instance. Specifically 1, 2, 4. All perfectly legal routes for many legitimate situations. Why should this be a priority over, something.. oh I don't know, how about something easy but so important - like using certified mail when mailing out greencards, or more paperless functions?

Might I assume you were answering the inital question - is immigration too easy? Just sounds like the old argument of "someone stole my cookie".

So then what about #3? What about the poor and destitute looking for family visas?

If they can't afford to support their families and sponsors, out with them.
