$25,000 fee would make this an elitist system only for the ridiculously well to do. There may be a problem with folks 'gaming the system.' There may be a problem with people in it simply to gain access to green cards and citizenship. However, raising the fee's simply makes those who would like to do the right thing find another 'wrong way' to do it.

Thank YOU!!!! AMEN!! The raising of fees and making immigration law a freaking maze even most lawyers cannot make it through has caused many people who would have done it legally, go with doing it illegally.

And the immense wait times? C'mon, just another government action to cause people to fail. People say it is to weed out the fraudelent marriages, I say that is bull. It is all about making people fail. Even with REAL marriages when they have to separate from their partner and live apart sometimes for up to a year or longer, and the financial strain, etc. I guarantee you there are millions of marriages between USC's that would not survive such a thing. so please don't tell me lies.

The system is already about elitist. The 'haves' make the rules and the "haves" have the ability to bend the rules. It is only those of lowersocioeconomic classes they are trying to keep out.
