I came to America from England in December 2004, I arrived with no visa as America and England have a visa waiver program that allows you to stay in the country for 90 days. So, during this 90 days, I got married. I then sent in a whole bunch of forms and a whole bunch of money. They mailed out the recipets to me in March 2005, but they mailed it to the house and not my PO Box and it was refused. Today I recieved an appointment to go and have my fingerprints taken...

So what's after this? How far along am I? It's taken 11 months for me to hear this very first thing from them... Is there much more to do? So, so tired of all this. All I want to do is get a job and be happy with my husband!! :crying:

Timeline

After the biometrics appointment (fingerprints and photograph taken), you should be getting a letter advising you when your Adjustment of Status interview will be and where.

This can take anywhere from several weeks to several months to even more than a year to get your interview date. The letter they send you will tell you everything that you will need to bring with you to your interview, including your spouse.

If you are approved after the interview, they may stamp your passport with the I-551 stamp (some offices do, some don't) and then your Green Card will arrive in the mail in a few weeks. You will then be a Conditional Permanent Resident. Two years later (less 90 days), you will have to apply to have the "Conditions" removed on your Permanent Resident status and then you will receive the 10-year Green Card. You can apply for citizenship before the 10-year card expires, or you can just renew the 10-year Green Card.

If this is the first you have heard for 11 months I would make an infopass appointment at your local office and find out what is going on...

if you are only just getting your Biometrics done you are way over the processing dates....

Well they sent out the reciepts but they were sent back as undeliverable, because they sent them to the house and not my po box. When i called them and asked them to send them back out, they said it would take a few months as I had held them up by them being returned etc.

I still havent gotton any "reciepts" just this appointment.
