K1 interview canceled by USCIS...why??

You are missing your Criminal Affidavit. Did you file one with you original Petition??

what criminal affidavit. I followed all their requirements. All i needed to submit at the time was my I-129F with the evidence. It never said anything about a criminal affidavit. Plus my petition was filed before this law so it shouldnt even affect me! but still they cancelled our interview =(

IMBR has created a 'gray' area that will affect those currently in the process.

No, this is not the "Police Report" This is for ALL American Citizens, only, who file a K-1.

i called USCIS...got transferred 3 times...talked to an immigration officer and he couldnt give me any more info than the other two. they said they dont have anything in their system but according to the embassy...USCIS is the one that made the call to cancel the appointment. all the guy could tell me is "things like this can occur wait a few weeks and then check" he said he doenst know how long it would take maybe 1 month maybe 6 he doesnt know. he said they would contact me should the status of it would change..and that was that. How can I find out more? anything i can do to speed this up or to find the source of the problem? any #'s or any people i can contact? I cant seem to get a direct answer as to why this happened. demanding doesnt help either cuz they dont have any info at all.

Have your congressman contact both the embassy and BCIS to find out what is going on. Call them now.

i dont think they ever sent it back. they realized their screw up and fixed it without actally sending it back. just a guess tho!

What is the Notice Date of your petition? Petitions with Notice Dates after March 5 are subject to the reviews required by IMBRA.

palak's fiancee's Notice Date was January something, according to his timeline, so that petition should not have been subject to the 'IMBRA Recall'.

A lawyer isnt going to get you through this present stage any faster. Even those with lawyers have to wait until USCIS gets directives on proceding. To my knowledge a lawyer is also reluctant to take on a case that is already processing. You have an approved petition that had already progressed to an interview being scheduled....once the further requirements of the IMBRA have been met, it will again be forwarded.

Did you fill out the imbra? Maybe they think you met through a marriage broker?
