Hi guys,

I already figured out that we need to send it to CSC as we will live in Santa Barbara county when we have to file for the removal. I'm assembling the package now as 2 weeks before we can send it off our baby is due - and we want it out of our way now and just send it off cause we will be crazy busy with a newborn in September :) (meaning it will be ready to go at the end of September)

Biometrics: I noticed that I will have to go to LA for the biometrics according to the USCIS website. Is that correct? If yes, can I bring my baby? Is that ok? It's a long ride anyways... Sheesh.

Evidence: we have bank, credit card and utility bills, military ID cards (which are health insurance cards as well), will have the birth certificate, tax returns, joint lease, car insurance, life insurance, pictures, joint car title, mail sent to us, catholic marriage certificate from October 2007... I guess that should be sufficient. Did I miss anything? My preggo brain is driving me nuts!

Do I need to send a real birth certificate or is a copy sufficient?

Can I put all this into one folder and organize it like a book or will they take it apart anyways? I'd love to make it look nice.

Ok that's it for now.... thanks for your help!

Looks good. Yes, you should have lots of evidence available. Make sure your examples cover the whole period of your marriage, not just examples from the last few months. A copy of the birth certificate is fine.

If you can, try to get an Acco fastener - that is the one with prongs that fold over and has a slide that holds them down. It is for a two hole punch at the top of the page with any index markers at the bottom. What USCIS does when they get your petition - no matter how nicely you have presented it - they take it out of your binding, 2-hole punch it at the top and put it into one of their acco folders. Organize it with the actual application on top, any cover letter or index next and then however you wish after that (using their categories is usually a good idea).

You will go for biometrics at either the ASC or the Immigration office that services your area. If it is Los Angeles then that is where you go. Yes, you should be able to take the baby with you:-). I have seen families with very young children at our ASC.

Good luck with the application and with your upcoming birth. And Congratulations.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
