I Think I'm Going to Faint

I just had a 17 minute phone call with the guy himself who is in charge of our Advisory Opinion. He actually said to me, "congratulations on getting this far..." I guess not a lot of people get through to him. He didn't actually say anything about our Advisory Opinion but he looked at our case and he said there's not a lot of notes to go by from the Consular Officer so he's going to call down there and get some clarification. He said he would be happy to do so. In the meantime, I got the opportunity to voice some of my feelings and deepest concerns with this man. I told him what all's going on. I told him our situation and everything. He said if the doctor has cited drug addiction with a good basis, there's nothing he can do. Which is what I'm expecting. But oh my gosh, to have the chance to just get some answers finally....he was so nice and he said he'd be "happy" to do this for us, also that he understands this drastically effects our life...one amazing conversation for sure.

Oh My! I don't know what to say! That is awesome you got to talk to someone. Even if you didn't get any answers, like you said, at least you got to tell him how you have been feeling this whole time. So, does this mean they haven't really made a decision? Why would he be calling the Consulate if it had been denied already? Hopefully, after he talks to the Consulate, you will get some answers. I am so amazed!

aw missliss... i'm happy you at least got to get some of that stuff off your chest. and that someone is actually listening and attempting to help you. so there is a chance that he can put some sort of motion to reconsider or something like that? i am keeping my fingers crossed for you. if nothing else changes, at least you know that you gave it your best shot.

I intend to move forward with our current plans. Something drastic would have to happen like tomorrow for me to stop my current plans. I just want explanations and clarification is all, and heck, if he's willing to look at it he can do so!

Yes, this is what I have just learned...the doctor makes the decision, not the CO. Which is interesting, since those doctors are not regulated by the Consulate.

I can only imagine how much better this conversation has made you feel, not so alone with this huge problem maybe. I am so pleased he was nice and listened to you, sometimes I think these people need to know there are real people with strong feelings waiting on their decisions. I really hope this brings some kind of good resolution for you both
