Looks like a royal wedding! :)

Thanks!

A was stressing out before the wedding about finding a dress. Money was an issue with flying back and forth to Australia a couple times a year. And I also didn't want to wear white. Been there, done that. Then I found this dress at Davids Bridal on the clearance rack. The sales gal had just set it out 15 min prior to me walking in the door. It jumped right out at me. I love that shade of red. $29.99 was all it cost. It fit perfect and I already had the jewlery at home. Happy days!

This is a photo I manipulated using a digital imaging program...I've made this one, one of me, and one of Joel that I plan on having printed out and framed...sort of like a triptych (sp?) type thingie. I'm really enjoying this! :D

This one is gorgeous! I can see this one printed in a 11x14 with some nice matting in a 16x20 gold frame. Maybe a frame that is brushed gold to add depth.

:)

I see pictures like these and I frame and mount them on the wall in my head!

Love the red!!

me too! It makes me think of the song "Lady in Red" :) My hubby likes me in red. When all this immigration stuff is over, we are talking about having a ceremony in Canada. I am not sure if we will do it in Montreal, Quebec City or Niagra Falls, but I want his family to be there and some of my family too. I wore black in the civil ceremony, but I hope to have lost weight before this other ceremony. I don't really want to do black this next time I don't think, so I might do red too... I am not sure. :)

Wow. What a beautiful setting, Necrotica.

I agree! Thanks for sharing!

Here you go Necrotica! It really is a beautiful setting, where did you get married?

Thanks! It's called Elinor Bedell State Park in a small town in northwest Iowa called Spirit Lake. It's close to where I grew up.

Necrotica, your dress was beautiful!

Necrotica, your dress is so lovely and you both look so happy! It makes me smile to see such happy wedding pictures. :D

Thank you very much! My mother made it for me. She was the WHOLE reason this wedding was so wonderful.

This looks like you had a beautiful wedding and I love how you released butterflies! That is so awesome! I love the symbolism in it. After all we have to go through to get our loved one into the country... the symbolism of the butterflies seems so apprepo!

Thanks! I've had three different major things happen in my life that were actually accompanied by the sight of a single monarch butterfly soon after, so the butterfly release was extremely fitting. My mother knew how to raise monarch butterflies because of her prior work at the county nature reserve and thus was able to provide them for the wedding at no cost!

I love this thread! The photos on here are wonderful!

I'm going to post some photos of after the ceremony because a lot of them are funny.

I love this photo.

Looks like Réjean is ready to go to the reception to get some food! *LOL*

I married SUCH a goofball.

Best wedding photo EVER.

This was our wedding cake. It was melting by the time we got there. I don't know of anyone else who has had a Dairy Queen ice cream cake as their wedding cake, but it was SO GOOD.

045_45.jpg

Us cutting the cake. Our reception was at a Chinese restaurant owned by friends of... you guessed it... my mother. Did I mention that she was the whole reason we had a wonderful wedding? She has connections like you wouldn't believe!

Ok, I think I've spammed enough here. B)

U rock girl!!! Love DQ ice cream cakes!!! makes sooo much more sense that a damn cake you pay big bucks for and no one eats, lol MMMMMMMM DQ!!! Smart thinking, seriously!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
