we have our appointment date for Thursday June 12th. The requirements are lengthy and they are asking for things we have already submitted. what do we really have to bring? Do we need to have our birthcertificates again? Do they have to be the originals? because we sent all our originals; what are the documentations establishing your eligibility for lawful permanent resident status? is that my husbands passport? I have two daughters from a previous marriage, do I need to bring their birth certificates? Do I need to bring another copy of my divorce decree? I've already submitted these documents twice. Once for the fiance petition and then again when filing for adjustment of status.

My biggest problem honestly, is that we submitted these forms, and I saved copies on my hard drive, I had paper copies also, however, my computer crashed and all our documents, including pictures that we hadn't printed, are gone. I'm also in the process of moving and I can't find our papers.

After getting this far, all we have been through, from start to finish, I really feel at a loss right now being so close to the end and blowing it because I can't find papers I have already sent.

If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it, please pray for us. I am so happy my husband is finally here, working, and adjusting to this new life. I am worried that this could still end.

Thanks as always

I would not worry about it. Usually the only papers they ask for at the interview is proof of relationship (like marriage certificate and both of your names on various paperwork, like bank accounts, credit cards, apartment lease, insurance, etc; as well as photos). Sometimes they do request other paperwork, saying something like, "I don't see it in the packet you sent" (though of course it is there!) So gather up all the paperwork you have, including everything you sent in before, and bring it with you, just in case.

I would not worry about the paperwork you lost on the computer, because as I said, usually they don't ask for stuff you already gave. Good luck at the interview! And sorry about your computer crashing, that is a real bummer. :crying: It's happened to me before too. Nowadays I have my files automatically backed up every day via an online website, http://mozy.com/.
