Does anyone know if you can find out from the Bangkok embassy if they received the Packet 2 information that my fiancee returned to them?

And it appears they post interview dates once a month on their website. Is that what I can expect is to see a new set of interview dates around June 7th as the last posting was May 7th?

Thanks!!

Not quite sure what packet 2 is. Do you mean packet 3? If not, not really sure what packet 2 is.

Also, about the interview date appearing on the website, the US embassy in BKK is HORRIBLE about updating their interview dates. Whoever is in charge of that should be fired because they really don't do their job.

Also, I recommend posting your questions in the sawasdee 2 forum, as this forum pertains specifically to Thailand visa questions.

Good luck.

Oh if you ARE talking about packet 3,then you email the embassy and ask them if they have received it, however first you need to call NVC to see if they have even sent your papers from NVC to the embassy in BKK.

So when you find out whether or not NVC has already sent out your papers, then you may email the US embassy in BKK and they will tell you whether or not they have received your papers. I recommend going to sawasdee 2 right now as this question was just asked, and I answered it and mentioned the format with which you have to email the embassy or else you'll get their automatic response email.

Sorry. She received her packet in the mail, did the paperwork, paid the fee at the post office and mailed it back and we are waiting for the interview date. So I guess that's NOA2 that she received. Next comes the interview date and the info telling her what to bring with her for the interview.

The NOA2 is from USCIS. It's the APPROVAL NOTICE the USCIS sends you. When you receive the NOA2, that means USCIS is sending your case to the NVC, and from the NVC it gets sent to the embassy.

So she received her PACKET 3. The interview date, etc. is called PACKET 4.

I recommend you read the guides so you get comfortable with the terminology so you can easily ask questions and people will understand exactly what you're talking about. ;)

Well, I have read through all that stuff. And I am sure I will still have questions down the road. I did write the embassy and put the correct heading on the email but again got the standard auto-reply. Does that mean they will still possibly answer my question anyway? I am due to fly over on the 18th but since the embassy site shows the intervews booked through July 11th, I am thinking of changing my flight so I can be there for the interview and hopefully have her come back with me a few days after. But it would sure be nice to know what is going on and if they received her packet 3 stuff she mailed on May 21st.

welcome tom and wariya...how did you mail back your packet 3? it is usually recommended to use ems so you can track it. if it was standard post i understand that it takes ages to find out if it was delivered. thailand post is notoriously bad

She had mailed regular post and the embassy advised to resend the documents and even called her to tell her what to do, which I thought was very nice of them. So today, Wed. Thai time, she resent the packet EMS. Since she is in BKK hopefully they will receive them tomorrow or Friday.
