Hello Everyone

My fiancée is ready for her K1 interview in Juarez. She has a 12 year old son who is with her on the I129-F petition and will be accompanying her. I have read that children under 15 must have their medical exam performed in Juarez 4 days before the interview. Is this the case with immigrant visas only, or also with non-immigrant visas like the K1?

This important piece of information is lacking in the instructions that came with the fiancée packet. In fact, I wouldn’t have known about it if not for this site.

Also, can they have their medical exams done at the same time, then return a week later for the interview?

Thanks in advance.

I recommend the clinic next to the consulate in Juarez. Yes ,they can do them both at the same time but the reason the child needs to take it 4 days before is because of the tuberculosis results. What we did was go to the clinic on Monday and they both did their exams. Thursday the results were ready for both of them. Since you are K1 then you have an open appointment you can go on Friday without scheduling anything. Once Friday comes around do not get in line. That is for the other visa's. Check in around 7-730am and show the guard your appoinment letter and they will let your fiance in with the child. Do not open the results from the clinic. It will say so on the packet they give you. Any help just ask. I have some aparments you can stay at too that were close by and clean.

Hi,

The child under 14 must be in Juarez for 4 days. They need to do a TB test and it takes that long to show the results with the skin test. You could take the medical exams on a Friday and receive the results on a Monday according to the clinic worker my Fiancee spoke to last week. then interview on Tuesday.

Do children in Mexico no longer get the TB vaccine? My husband tested positive in the US b/c of his tb vaccine as a child and now can only use x-rays.
