Police Certificates from Lima peru, Please Help!!

Hello, I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. We received our NOA 2 and our papers are leaving the NVC today.

Here is our situation. My wife was born in Lima and lived there until her mid 20's. She now lives in Buenos Aires where she has lived for the last 5 years. She is in the process of obtaining the three police certificates that she needs. Certificado Policial, Certificado de Antecedentes Penales and Antecedentes Judiciales a Nivel Nacional. Her father and brother in Lima are helping her.

Now, they already got the "Certificado Policial" I think this is also called "Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales" it is on a green paper. She said that it was pretty easy. She had to send her fingerprints to Lima and it only took a few days.

The problem and my qustion is with the other two. I do not quite understand what she is telling me. She said it may take up to 5 weeks to get them. I assumed that she could just send a proxy letter to her father in Lima and he could just go down and get them. But she is talking something about going through the Consulate of Peru in Buenos Aires and is telling me how difficult it is to get these two documents. And she is very stressed out. Has anyone else had the experience of obtaining the documents from outside of Peru?

Because maybe there is a more simple way she can go about this. Or if I understand the process better, then I can better give her support. I understand it is pretty easy for her to do it herself in person. I am tempted to just have her go to Lima and do it herself, but she really does not want to go if she does not need to because we have alot going on right now, and also a plane ticket will cost around $500.

Also, does anyone have experience in getting multiple copies of the documents. I am going to try a race between the K3 and CR1 using the shortcuts for the NVC. So to pursue both routes, we need two original copies of everything. This is also stressing her out because she says it is not like the US, you cannot just ask them for multiple copies when you order the report. She thinks this will raise some kind of red flag and cause them to decide they need to do a very complete check on you which will slow things down even more.

She keeps telling me that I am thinking like I am doing things in the US. And that things are not as easy in South America.

Oh, I'm sorry... I thought you were a K-1. I don't know how much your process is the same or different. So maybe my links will help some. The police certificates should be good info though, I'd imagine.
