RECEIVED MY PACKET 3

Hello Friends...

I am so happy. I drove through to Johannesburg this afternoon to pick up my packet 3, checklist from my consulate. Everybody was so kind and helpful and my case worker is a gem. Very kind and helpful.

One question though.......Am I right if I say I can only submit the checklist once I have the results of my medical examination?

I am just so happy about this process comming to a close. I want this over as soon as possible.

Each consulate is different.... what if any to the instructions say specifically in regards to scheduling the interview?

I had mine scheduled even before I got the packet #3 but didn't have it done until just 2 days ago...how are they going to know if you had it done yet or not? I just checked everything on the list, faxed it to the Consulate and got the requested date (the window I gave them was from June 3 to 17) which is June 16 for the interview. Make sure to allow enough days to receive the medical results back...I didn't realize that it takes them 3-4 days to prepare then at my cost, they will courier them to me. You may want to check with the panel physician on that...Good luck!!

As soon as you have all the documents they request and have scheduled your medical, you can return packet 3. I did mine this way and got an appointment scheduled sooner. They can only schedule you for an interview once you return packet 3 so the sooner you return this to the embassy the better.
