Did you see how many Secret Service were around Obama as he worked the crowd after his speech Tuesday night? I counted three on each side of him.

There are crazed zealots who support Obama and there are people here on VJ who said they would stay home if Clinton was the candidate.

I think if the Democrats want to win, they need to put their differences aside and stop trying to attack each other.

Of course there are radical elements in each of the followings. The best thing to do to achieve party unity is to ignore them - whichever side they're on.

Yes, BO's safety is probably of concern, just like any powerful person and maybe a little more so because he is black. Although George Bush and Hillary Clinton seem far more hated in the current environment. I'm concerned for their safety too, whatever my disagreements with them might be.

I think you would not have been "lambasted" Steve if you hadn't said so in the context of a discussion of "hillary as VP," or mentioned again in a thread about "hillary supporters." It strikes me as negative, a little disingenuous and slightly hysterical.

Ok, it's finally over. To bad because it was fun to watch. It still remains to be seen how well the Hillary supporters move over to Obama. There has been a lot of bad blood there and I think there will be some lingering resentment.
