I am in a similar timeframe to many posters who are reporting that they found out from

NVC that their case is complete. As I understand it, they used the phone method. That's a

bit cumbersome for me, since I am calling from Japan. So my question is, does NVC

send an e-mail, once case is complete, or only snail mail, or plain nothing. If it's an

e-mail, I will wait for it, otherwise I guess the only option is to make the overseas call.

I am dying to find out, feeling so close after 15 months.

If you want to find out if your case has been completed, you will have to call the NVC but the good thing is that the automated system will let you know this information without having to speak to a rep. The only time the NVC will mail you anything is to send you packet 4 which will contain the interview information. They also don't e-mail you unless you're requesting information first.

Well, I called NVC, the operator line seems to be busy and they throw me back to the

automated system. However, they are asking for NVC case numbers which does not

correspond to mine ( beginning with TYO - for Tokyo ). It says if it does not begin with

the letter options they give me, i will be sent back to an operator. Which of course does

not come on, since it returns me to the automated line. What's up with that

Your case number should start with three letters TKY followed by 2008....... not TYO??? You should really talked to an operator and asked if the case number they gave you is corect.

The best time to call NVC is between 9 and 10pm Japan time.

Goodluck.
