mashallah jess and nawal your babies are beautiful...cant wait to see them gettin big!!

zaid slept 7 hours straight last night, woke up to eat, then slept another 4...it was WELL NEEDED considering the night before I only slept 4 hours...i am gonna call his doctor today and bring up the Colic thing...Im almost positive he has it...he cries like he is being abused for 3-4 hours every night..im such a lucky mom, lol...

we are having a graduation party for my twin sister on saturday so today we hae lots of shopping to do and getting the house together...should be fun...sofyan will be on baby duty for a few hours so i can get things done withou interruptions...

wishing everyone a great day and hoping the weather by you is better than it is here in chicago

My youngest was colicky and it didn't start until about week 2 I believe. We had to change her formula to the wicked expensive kind and I had to give her a bottle of warm water mixed with light Kayro syrup twice/day. That and keeping her in a snuggly so she was always smelling me and feeling my heartbeat did the trick. Luckily they do grow out of it eventually so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I think it's part gassiness and part just being uber sensitive to life outside of the womb, though every case is different.

We had to use Mylicon drops with Malek and eventually his formula had to be changed to Isomil. If I turned on the vaccuum cleaner or blow dryer he would quit crying. I think we went through this for about a month and now he hardly ever cries.

Since my husband has arrived, he has cleaned out a basement, garage, shed and closets full of junk and toys. His motto is, if I am cleaning and your toys are on the floor and you have the chance to pick them up they are gone. You would not believe the toys that he threw away. We were embarassed for the neighbors to see them. We had trash in front of our yard and the neighbors two trash pick ups in a row.

I see Zaid's new pics and he is so cute! He looks like a little man!

Your baby is already putting his toys away??? I'm confused. Are these his toys he's tossing or do you have another child?

Yay! I just made plans to go see Sex and the City tonight. I can't wait!

I'm so jealous! We're either seeing the Hulk (if it's even open yet) or Ironman.

Ironman is fantastic - saw it a couple weeks ago with my little sister.

i use the mylicon drops as needed...they do seem to help...the odd thing is, he poops and farts like a pro....so, i dont know...I would hate to think about switching formula...he does well on this one he has never spit up, burps like a pro, and sleeps great when full...the days that seem to be bad are the days we are extremely busy, or when there are a lot of people at my house...ohh i dont know..

Im having a donut.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

kelly - then i think it must be the environment thing similar to what my daughter had. I guess they just have to get used to it but it's so hard on both sides...yours and his. He's used to this soft quiet womb and now he has to deal with these scarey loud noises, you know? Hopefully the pediatrician will have some tips.

Tasha - OK. I thought you were training the wee one just a tad early. LOL. My husband's not one for throwing ANYTHING away since why bother when you can sell it? We're having a yard sale this weekend so that should be interesting! I think he'll love the bartering since that's something he misses living here. We went to a flea market two weekends ago and you'd have thought he died and went to heaven he was sooo in his element!

I will tell you that when Malek gets really irritated is when people are around and there is a lot of noise. Anything that breaks his norm is what I think. You know riding in the carseat and different people holding the baby different ways and if he is held a lot by them maybe makes them sore. I don't know they are just little mysteries!!! Every baby is so different how they relate to change and the environment. He's so tiny and new and like Bridget said maybe just getting used to the world around him. That's great he doesn't spit up and burps, poops and passes gas well on his own. Maybe this phase will not last long for you! Best wishes!

Oh my husband cracked up at the whole garage sale thing. He was so amazed when we had a community garage sale and when he was throwing stuff out he said let's give this to Chad (our neighbor)to sell. It was an old basket that was falling apart...he said he sells stuff like this! Good luck with the garage sale, I can't wait to hear your stories!
