Any risks? Are you ****ing kidding me? SKIPPING A VACCINE = RISK OF DEATH. That's why we BLOODY WELL HAVE VACCINES IN THE FIRST PLACE.

But as long as you're okay with the possibility of your son (and several of his classmates) DYING of measles, then I guess I don't mind if you risk my life along with theirs.

Read the news ... parents in the UK refused to vaccinate, and now kids over there have started dying of measles again. You know, like they did BEFORE THE VACCINE WAS INVENTED.

Oh, and my husband has Asperger Syndrome, and he DIDN'T have any of the vaccines that people (erroneously) think cause it. Only vaccine he had was polio. And if we have kids, damn skippy we're getting them vaccinated.

with all do respect...whoever you are....i had hep b, measles, rubella and chickenpox and i didnt die...they are not deadly diseases, sorry to dissapoint you...mmr and some of the others...so yeah, choosing between puting up with my son being sick for 2 weeks and have him like a vegetable for the rest of his life, i choose the first....you dont even have measles in us here but still give him the shot...and guess what...the mmr shor is still not 100% reliable...they are still experimenting...and you know what else??? you can still get the disease even if you have the shot...

so thanks but no thanks...my son will not be at risk if i dont give him the shots...i survived just fine, and so did other millions in my country when they werent vaccinated....

oh yes...and rubella i had it when i was 3 days old...thank you very much.....

I think it is benefits vs. risks though. Your child probably has a much, much higher chance of dying or being seriously maimed in a car wreck than having some adverse reaction to a vaccine. However, I don't see the movement to stop putting children in cars. Benefits outweigh the risks.

In my family the males do have adverse reactions. It creates a manic depressive / bipolar state for years after. I have seen it in cousins , my older son ( my younger is NOT vaccinated and has never had a problem ) and 2 of my grandsons ( one of which has had to be on inpatient mental care two times before he was 11 ) My daughter has not vaccinated the youngest male. For those that do not reactions are nothing I can tell you otherwise. Because it is mandated that childern get vaccines , the boys are about the only ones in the school without them.

If there is an outbreak they are on a list to be sent home. ( never happened in my sons 13 years of public school ) Because everyone around them has their shots there is little chance they will catch anything.

Personally I dont think kids should all be vaccinated. I dont believe in it, yet I do see the need for certain ones. I just think alot of vaccinations cause other problems. They fix one thing an make the other worse...or open you up to other harmful agents. I see the argument on both sides...but I lean more to the side of not vaccinating. THATS RIGHT! I'm the mom with the kid that gives your kid cooties!!!.....yeah right...don't believe everything you hear people. When was there some outbreak from an un vaccinated kid? The outbreaks are usually from any and every kid and the outbreak is the flu, chickenpox or a cold.....oooohhhh scary!

It's up to the parent. I have good friends who refused, after doing their own research, to immunize their children. Do I particularly agree with that stance? No, not really, but I do see the point of concern about the ingredients used in the vaccines (fillers, like mercury, etc), the amount of shots given at one time, the amount of shots in general, and the "one size fits all" mentality.

there's no harm in questioning the status quo!

STFU you crazy liberal! (j/k!)

hehehe

I am a weird mix of liberal and conservative, that is for sure. ;)

I"m pretty sure you're my long lost twin...

George Will was on Colbert last night and described the difference between conservative and liberal as the difference between freedom and equality. Conservatives want freedom and are willing to accept the inequality that results from it; liberals want equality of outcome for all and are willing to infringe on freedoms to achieve it.

I like the use of the semi-colon, Master T. You've gone up in my estimation.

I, as well, was going to comment on proper semi-colon usage. It maketh me happy, for sure.
