Basic question regarding I-134

We have recently received NOA2, and I'm waiting for the packet from the US Embassy in Tokyo. I have a basic question regarding the I-134.

I understand the I-134 form will come in the packet sent from the Embassy. Doesn't my fiance have to use that particular paper? Or can he use the downloadable form from the USCIS website? Is the downloadable form the same as the one in the packet?

I read the following in the K-1 FAQ on this website and am a little confused.

Note to save some time: When your I-129F has been approved, either wait until the embassy requests the I-134 or work ahead and complete and send the I-134 Affidavit to your fiance(e) for the visa interview a ahead of time (call the embassy and ask if they require anything additional with the I-134).

Download the form. I doubt they'll send the blank form to the beneficiary because the petitioner fills it out and provides it to the beneficiary along with the supporting documentation.

Just make sure the form he uses is the latest one - the latest ones are at the USCIS site. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

Many sites have fillable forms so use them but make sure they are the latest (or still acceptable) ones. Good Luck

He will have to sign it and get it notarized in the US, so he has to mail it to you, not emailed. He has to get proofs of his income too. He should start working on this now because it's a number of things to get together. Then add to that however long it takes to send documents from the US to Japan.

You don't need to wait for packet 3. Just ask your fiance to prepare I-134 if you are in a hurry, so that you can send interview date request ASAP. As others mentioned, just get the latest from from official site.

Actually, I had my fiance prepare it one month ahead of NOA2. B) Since I know he's so slow....

Good luck
