My fiance sent our petition to Vermont office in the middle April. However, he has not received NOA1 yet. It seems like everyone is receiving NOA1 within 2 weeks.

We dont know what to do right now. Is it lost somewhere...? or is it just taking time...? I am worried.

Has your cheque been cashed yet?

Vermont received our petition exactly 7 weeks ago today (4/16). Our check was cashed on 4/25. NOA1 dated 4/23.

If they cashed your check, I wouldn't worry about it. It's possible your NOA1 got lost in the mail. If you have your EAC number you can track your petition online at the uscis website. But if your payment hasn't been processed you should probably call them and think about resending your package.

Thank you for your advise. Unfortunately, we sent them a money order so we dont know if they cashed it or not. I guess my fiance in the US has to go to his bank and see that money order was cashed. I just tried to call USCIS but I only got to the automatical information. Since I dont have case #, it seems like I cannot talk to someone to ask specific questions. Awww I feel like I am lost. :crying:

I'm so sorry, this has to be frustrating for you! If the money order has been cashed, at least you know they've got the petition and it's in the works! Try to get the EAC number from the back if that's the case. ;) Your NOA1 is probably lost in the mail.

If the money order still hasn't been cashed then it's most likely lost in the abyss somewhere and you should cancel it and file again. I do hope you have an exact duplicate of your petition to make it easier on you.

A word of advice, if you do send it again, use return receipt request so they sign on delivery. You can then track it online and send you/your fiance a card to prove it. I sent ours usps that way overnight and it only cost me $23 or so.

best of luck to you

If you look at the USCIS sight, one of the conditions for calling, and them answering is if 30 days have passed and you have not received a response to a petition.

I would send another copy if after calling , they do not have you in the system. They can, and will do a search for you after 30 day.

The whole process with Vermont is reminding me of a flight I did in my plane from Kansas City to Dallas. After leveling out for cruise the GPS said 2 hour 45 minutes. 1 hour later the GPS still read 2 hours 45 minutes, the head winds got stronger for the first hour of the flight, and I was no closer (time wise) after flying 1 hour then when I took off.

With Vermont when I filed in FEB my guess was 25 - 60 days. Right now my current guess is still 25 - 60 days from now, And I filed over 3 months ago.

Thank you everyone. I talked with my fiance in the US and he will call USCIS tmrw. Thank god, I made all copies of documents so we will be able to

file another one fairly quick if we have to. He used express mail by USPS and it was like 20 bucks. He hasnt been able to find a receipt (ouch)

I wonder what they would say when he calls.
