CASE APPROVED AND NVC CONFIRMS RECEIPT

SHi everybody,

does anybody know a telephone number to call from U.S. in order to

know when exactly NVC sent our petition to the Consulate in the country of

the beneficiary?

On the 27th of April my fiance in U.S. got the confirmation by mail that

NVC was going to send the petition to the American Consulate in order to

send to me (I'm the beneficiary)packet 3 in Italy. Since it has been 2 weeks

now we would like to know how long it takes to get Packet 3, or if this

"famous" packet is on the way.

Apparently it looks like that when my fiance try to contact them, they ask to

press no. 1, then 2, then 3 but actually at the end you can't get an hold on

nobody.

Does anyone know, from personal experience, what

number should be dialed from U.S., or the best way, in order to know when

they sent the file to my country (which is the beneficiary country), in order

to get "packet 3" ?

the number i have for NVC is 603-334-0700 it automated service 24 hours and you can select for an operator 7:30am to midnight. (US time) You do have to listen to insutructions carefully for selections.

sometimes it will refer you back to the automation if operators busy... just hang up and try again.

NVC receives thousands of telephone and written inquiries from applicants, petitioners, congressional offices, U.S. embassies and consulates, CIS offices and the White House. An automated recorded message system can answer many of these inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week (603 334-0700). Operators are available to respond to more difficult inquiries from 7:30 AM to 12:30 AM (EST) Monday through Friday. Status of case information and access to an operator can only be provided by entering your NVC case number or CIS receipt number on a touch-tone telephone. Case inquiries can also be made via email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. NVC only has information on petitions it has received. If our automated service does not recognize the CIS file or receipt numbers you entered, most likely we have not yet received your petition. In addition, answers to commonly asked questions can be retrieved through an automated e-mail response system.

Humm... You should call your Consulate in Italy to see if they received your petition already! In affirmative case, ask them if you can send the package 3 forms to them before receiving this!

Calling the NVC for information on a K-1 case is pointless. Once it leaves the NVC they have nothing further to do with it. You need to use the case number they assigned, and contact the Consulate in Italy, and ask them what is going on.

Of course! Both the Petitioner and the Beneficiary have the right to know what's going on with their case! And as long as NVC sent the papers to the Consulate, there's really nothing to be asked to them anymore! Now, it's up to the Italian Consulate!

It can take about 3 weeks before you receive your PK3 as the Consulate still has to process the papers once they receive them

Thanks Adele....then I will wait until next week and then I will send them an email (as next week will be 3 weeks since NVC got our petition).
