Hi All,

Hope this post finds you well...

Here is my question for those of you that have gone through POE at JFK: If you didn't know English very well at the time, how did you manage? Are there immigration officers around who are speaking other languages (like French and Arabic in our case)? Did they ask a lot of questions?

At this moment, my hubbie is practicing how to ask for work authorization... Should I be prepping him for anything else?

Thanks!!

I wouldn't worry too much. JFK seems to give out EAD without even asking. My husband got the stamp this past January and we didn't even know it!!

As far as the language, they are used to lots of foreigners and usually don't ask too many questions. They'll likely just remind him that you guys have to marry within 90 days.

I am a flight attendant at JFK don't worry there are a ton of speakers around and Moroccans are notoriously friendly and help each other alot. So don't worry about the language one bit. If he comes in on Royal Air Maroc it is Terminal 1 and they are excellent there! Also Air France is thru there so lots of french speakers are on duty! Good Luck!

Thanks everyone!

It is reassuring that there will be some Arabic/French speakers around to help him...

I'm still afraid to let myself start counting the days...

i know that they have interpreters, im sure for both of those languages, but adriano had absolutely no problem getting through jfk with the ead stamp...he spoke virtually no english at the time of his arrival, and he had absolutely no problems at all...it seems that they didnt interrogate him at all, and just let him pass on through since he had all of his documents in order

good luck
