I am rooting for the frenchies, even though they haven't been at their best since '98 World cup.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

My husband has been recording all the games and watching them when he gets home from work. I have to keep quiet about the results because he has a self-imposed media blackout (as he calls it) so he can watch the games "live."

My husband is waining because he has to be at work but I kept him up to date by screaming on the phone  My parents gave him croatian jersey for christmas an he still didn't have a chance to wear it.

It seems to me that on ESPN everybody are so supprised by Croatia winning, I don't get it why. Croatians are big soccer fans and I think we are doing good for a country with 4.5 millions of people... :)

There are a lot of idiots on ESPN, although at least they have some knowledgeable announcers for this tournament, unlike some of the World Cup jokers who didn't even know the rules and used lots of U.S. football and hockey terms when describing the action.

I seem to remember Croatia getting a lot of good press prior to the tournament. They did beat England twice in the qualifiers, after all...

And yes, very impressive for such a small country!

I really liked Zizou...he is one of my favorite players. To bad he's not playing anymore.

I 'liked' the belgian 'mom' out on the field today. First he's pushing everybody around for MINUTES before they can play and then ... who didn't get a yellow card in that game? Well, Germany is going to luck out in the end again, I'm sure. We're always lucking out...don't even have to be good players.

:) I really enjoy soccer especially when Croatia is winning... When we got out of the World Cup 2006, after that I was for Germany (because I was studying there at the time), my favorite was Podolski and he's still cute as he was 2 years ago. I remember songs Germans where singing, I loved it. "Berlin, Berlin, wir fahren nach Berlin"...and then when they lost and it was obvious they are not going to be in the final (Berlin) they started to sing "Stuttgart is viel schoner als Berlin, schoner als Berlin...." ...Ah, I miss Germany too, as well as Croatia.... and if I would go back there I would miss Virginia..

Geez Austria:Poland 1:1....Good for us

I have no idea to be honest, I expected so much more from both them and Italy.. either we're really doing great or they're really doing bad at the moment, I have no idea.. All I know is that I never expected my country to go through to the quarterfinals :S

Here's my top 5. As it stands, I can't see anyone getting passed Holland.

I don't know to be honest... I still don't think they're there yet. I really hope the Netherlands will indeed manage to grab the championship but it is still a long way to go and weirder things have happened in the past. I surely hope the Dutch wont get it too much into their heads otherwise they will start to lose for sure..

(I can't believe I'm about to write about soccer ^^)

I watched the game, congratulations to Holland! Jeroen I think you're right when you say France is doing bad at the moment. It seems like they can't keep up. They'll do great for a while, and then bad sh^t. My friends were all really sad (not me.. soccer isn't really my thing, I just watched to spend some time with them). From what they say, half of the team is quite old now, and the other half are too young, they haven't been playing at that level for long enough. But I guess when we lose we try to find every possible excuse.

What is strange is that Italy is losing too!

Anyway, once again, congratulations! this was a pretty nice game.
