Congrats to Spain, although not managing to score for 120 minutes with a "lame" team is hardly "owning"...but anyways... ;)

I want the underdogs to advance now, so I hope it will be Turkey - Russia in the final...let's not forget Greece won against all odds 4 years ago...

*Off to lick wounds* :P

What was most lame was the referee's. Sorry but even though I don't know much about soccer it was plain as day who was receiving payola in that game. I thought bball flopping was bad....When the announcers are complaining about the lack of consistency in calling fouls and penalties something ain't kosher in Vienna. GO ESPANA!!!!!

I can tell...

He's right though - the ref was terrible

I've seen worse in this tournament...

I think the commentator (was it Andy Gray?) went on about it a bit too much. The ref did make some bad calls and clearly overlooked some fouls, but geez--enough is enough.

Five minutes into the game, my husband said, "This is going to be nil nil." He's a real soccer geek. Unfortunately, he was right! But the penalties were exciting!

Well that guy is the King of OTT as well as stating the obvious, i.e. "if this was boxing, it would be decided on points but this is not boxing." Really? I thought I saw Oscar De La Hoya somewhere in the Spanish midfield.

But there were some terrible calls. Although I wonder if he still considered Ruud Van Nistelroy's off-side goal "the worst decision in the history of the tournament."

I don't speak Spanish dear...I'm from Italy, see the flag on the side? BTW I'm not worried either, being beaten once every 88 years is more than fine by me.;) And by all means, feel free to blame the ref again if for some reason Spain can't manage to score with Russia either ...:star:

That we need to practise penalties more???? :jest:

Jokes aside...our problem was that we sucked! That's all there is to it sadly...but Spain performance was very poor too, way worse than what they are actually capable of...that was my point all along. The ref had nothing to do with it...

go turkey!

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!
