I am having a great day off. Went to Walmart with Lexy, we just made pancakes with maple syrup. Her dad will pick her up soon. Then I am going to bust out my new toy  I'm kinda excited. Never used one before.

I know charles, yours is bigger and more powerful than mine.

I hate weedeaters. The string gets locked, not to mention they're dangerous if too close to ur feet, they make ur back hurt after a short time. My dad always did the weedeating and I rode the riding mower....

if you respool the line yourself, that's because you didn't wrap it tightly. if you wrap it loose, it can get bound up.

 nooooooooo where in the booklet does it say you will soon be covered, head to toe in green grass shavings

:star: It works! :star: I had to assemble it! omg. But that was ok. I think I have to go back and get a replacement pack for the string.

Jackie........you can buy a spool and wind it yourself. Much cheaper, and if you put the thing together, I'm sure you can figure out that. Mine has an arrow on the bottom telling you which way to wind it.

I wonder if you wind it the other way what happens????????????

Just imagining....Sue

 on the arrow, good point.

and if you wind it the other way, it won't work right when you tap it to get more line.

Jackie, wear covered shoes. You'll tap out that line and if you tap too much, when you turn it on it should cut itself to the right length. One time I did that the piece of string went flying and went through the top of my shoe and the top of my foot. I now have a really awesome scar. Probably, if my shoes hadn't been in the way, it would have gone deeper, which would have been through the ligaments. Also probably, if I had been wearing proper shoes instead of my courd tennies (which are like 2 layers of cloth), I wouldn't have had anything go into my foot. I second charles on wearing glasses. Sunglasses are what I wear, but anything is good to protect your eyes. Cord through the cheek is one thing, Cord through the eyes is totally different.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Well that sure was a good time. My neighbor felt sorry for me, with my $19.98 leangreenmeanweedeatin machine. He said when he does his yard, he will do mine. Alhamdulillah :star:

It was very theraputic. I can totally see now why one would need shoes, glasses and I am thinking a shirt with sleeves too! Next time I go out there, I'm gonna look like an alien explorer.

i don't usually go for a long sleeve shirt, but jeans are a plus. i wear sunglasses instead of safety goggles as they have no ventilation and it's kinda hard to weedeat with sweat in your eyes. and once you've have a piece of grass bounce off your eyeball you'll appreciate any form of glasses :P

also note - the way you hold the weed eater decides whether the grass is blown to you or away. mine runs in a clockwise direction, so i cut from right to left and with it tilted slightly up in the front.

pun intended??

That's true. At best it's uncomfortable to be covered in little grass pieces. I always wear pants though :)

If you were closer, Jackie, i would give you my reel mower.
