Don't look now, but the U.S.-backed government and army may be winning the war.

People need to realize that the major weapon of the current Jihad is money -- not money that they have earned, but for the most part money that comes from an accident of geology. OIL

If its an oil issue, you would be all for a couple new refineries and a little drilling here on our own soil? Enviromental terrorists are getting us further and further into a hole.

Did you realize here in wash. state that hydro electirc power is not considered a renewable resourse? Why? To force us into building solar and wind projects to comply with the rules.

No way I'd sign up for something like Iraq.

Its for each individual to decide before enlistment. All I know is that of the "folks I know" (can't help but laugh at my own comment there for a moment) that have done actual tours of duty with combat, their perception of everything from the reasons to be there to our roles over there are not exactly the black and white picture some would have us believe.

No doubt.

But WA has a sizeable hydro-electric program does it not?

Can't imagine solar taking off there... there's never any sun

I live on the east side of the cascade mountain range where in the summer temps get up into the 100's. Metro seattle on the west side is very liberal with a larger voting block.

Ah - I've only been to the Seattle side by the coast.

We almost moved there but things didn't pan out with the company. Would have been nice - Washington and Oregon are a lot nicer than New Jersey.
