Former president Bill Clinton dropped a hint Monday that the end might be nigh for his wife Hillary's dogged campaign for the Democratic White House nomination, according to reports.

"I want to say also that this may be the last day I'm ever involved in a campaign of this kind," the former president told Clinton supporters in South Dakota, ABC and NBC reported on their news websites.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Clinton Clue: Staffers Urged To Turn In Receipts

Clinton Campaign staffers and former campaign staffers are being urged by the Clinton campaign's finance department to turn in their outstanding expense receipts by the end of the week. That's a sign, to them, that the campaign wants to get its affairs in order soon. If Clinton were staying in the race, there'd be no real reason to collect these receipts now; she'd still be raising and spending money from the same primary campaign account. The campaign is in arrears to the tune of about $11 million.

Advance staff were told Sunday they can attend Clinton’s election night event at Baruch College in New York City, but their roles on the campaign are over.

Tom Vilsack, the former Iowa governor and a national co-chairman of Clinton's campaign, said Sunday: "It does appear to be pretty clear that Senator Obama is going to be the nominee. After Tuesday's contests, she needs to acknowledge that he's going to be the nominee and quickly get behind him."

Nevermind.

A Hillary Clinton spokesman told reporters on a flight over South Dakota that Clinton has no plans of dropping out of the race at her election night celebration in New York City tomorrow night.

“She is in this race until we have a nominee, she still believes there is a path for her to become that nominee,” said spokesman Mo Elleithee. “I think it's pretty clear that she is not conceding.” When asked "Will you deny that she is dropping out tomorrow night?" Elleithee responded, "Yes."

She has until the end of the week to get out herself. It'll be made clear to her - by those holding back to afford her this opportunity as well as by a number if those that currently back her - come Thursday or Friday - possibly sooner - that there is no path to the nomination for her. The Democtrats will present their nominee this week. It's over!

I might also add that the best thing or the bigger thing for her to do at this point would be to back Obama to quiet the Clinton supporters and unite the party. Once that is done I am sure most of the Clinton supporters will not be alienated since they are hearing it from the horses mouth and they can reasonably move to backing Obama as well.
