Contacting or speaking to the Ambassder

I am wondering if I went to delhi is it possible for me to request to speak to the ambassder about my wifes' immigration case. As she is pregnant it whould be really good if she could be in the U.S for the birth it would make life soo much easier as if our baby is born there then I would have to take a 3-4 week old baby on 9/10 hour bumpy car ride with no baby seats avialable at least from what I know and carzy drivers every where!!!!! Spend the night in a hotel go to the office of reporting birth abroad

then if my wifes pettion is approved worry about having a 2/3 month old and my wife go on 15/16 hour flight after a 9/10 car bumpy car ride ETC Etc etc.. Even if its first class wich by the way is like 1 month of pay for me NICE thing to have to pay with the fact I won;t be getting payed for two months because of all this and I have my baby and wife to worry about when they get here my wife will probbly not work for at least a year. MAN THIS IMMAGRATION THING IS NOT SET-UP VERY WELL!!!!!!!!!!!

I very much dislike the fact that when I talk to those people they say all cases are unique but it seems like thats just a cover for SORRY US CITZEN and SPOUSE we get to take as much time as we want and don;t have to let you know anything about whats really going on. AND no Mr/Miss Tax payer you can not speak to the person handling your case derictly for even One minute no matter how much we maybe reuning your families life.

Aman, I see that you are in Virginia. Senator Warner's office is usually very helpful. I don't know if they can do anything to speed up your case, but they will do inquiries and are VERY efficient and helpful.

I think you are very optimistic.

Do you know how many Indians are processed for visas????? Many, Many!!!!!!! Not just family re-unification, but also HB-1 visas. Your situation is not extreme hardship. Only major hassles of the bumpy roads and travel and hotels (I lived in india and travelled extensively there, so I KNOW). Many other people have to face the same issue as yours.....

Here is my suggestions:

Have a trusted family member travel with your wife. Uncle, brother, father... even family friend if close and trusted.

Book private taxi if the journey can only be done by road. This allows for breaking the journey up if 9/10 hours straight driving is too much. I know you can book a private taxi anywhere in India.

Other options: Private deluxe coach, 2nd class reserved on trains or 1 class if you feel more comfortable with this. I normally travel 2nd class reserved on trains and see many woman travelling with their babies and relatives. It is safe and a good option for a new mother to travel. She can lay down and nurse with relative ease (just cover with a blanket when nursing).

All cities have a lot of hotels. However, since you are concerned for your wife's comfort I would suggest the YWCA is one option for hotel. YWCA in Mumbai and Delhi both have good rooms for family to stay and are safe and secure.

Thank you guys for your responses I am very Optimistic

I will have a trusted Family member travel with my wife ME!!!! yes I will book a nice Van or buy one and make things as comfortable as possible for my wife and new born if it comes to that. I will research extensively hotels in delhi thank you for recommending YWCA.

I know my case may not be consider extreme hardship. Unless ofcourse your ME!!!!!

Please, excuss me if I came of a little sour in my response. My current situation has made me a little edgey

I guess when I found out We where having a baby everything just became all about it being perfect I know there are many people out there going thru alot more then we are with less resources, and I wish I could help fully. I don;t know lately I've become selfish in regards to everything going as best a possible for my wife and baby. I really was'nt like this before.

Nutty gave very good suggestions and because she knows a lot about the environment of India AND now many millions are bombarding the embassy for visas, she just put everything into a realistic perspective. This morning I felt so horrible for myself that I figured they forgot about our case and just dont care. I understand that selfishness that comes because it seems if you are not looking out for yourself, no one else is. My prayers to your wife, in my view your situation IS a hardship because it is YOUR wife and baby. The world really does not look at it as a hardship, its true - but I know you do and you are very right in feeling this way.

Every case is heartbreaking in its own way and I would not mind to give up my husband's visa for a month's delay if it were that we were at the embassy and they only had 2 for the whole month, I would say, give it to them. A pregnant wife is not the same as a husband, no matter how horribly sick my husband is becoming after 8 months of torture from the embassy, family and friends.

I really do pray that our cases will get cleared soon. Genuine love prevails, that is the truth.

I truly feel embarrassed about my response post To NUTTY's remarks..... If you reading this please except my deepest Apologizes.

After taking a few breaths I realized I am becoming a man I do not ever wish to be. I very much dislike people who make quick judgements and snub remarks.

After reading the thread with my usual somewhat clear eyes . I am very appreciative to anyone giving insight and perspective to me in regards to our visa case. Even when it is not what I want to hear but what I should hear to get a grip. So a genuine THANK YOU to NUTTY for taking the time to look over my Post and make a insightfully and truthful comment.

Tammy thank you very much for your remarks they almost made me cry. Very emotional lately It would have been quite the scene at work. I am sure my colleges would not know what to make of it LOL

and now for a little rant

I know GOD is watching over us all and loving us more then we can ever Know and that helps us cross the desert. But how did we get here in the frist place Can't wait if We just keep walking we'll be home, I also wish I new how big this desert was LOL I ask god everyday so far the answer is just keep walking Son:) and help as many others as you can on the way. God bless us all each and every one espically the Embassy Couslar peeps I hear people work better with god in thier heart.

Dear Aman Ram:

I understand your strain and stress at wanting to be with your wife during her time of need.

I noticed from your timeline that you have completed the I-130 and have not received any notice of approval. Am I right? I ask because sometimes people do not update their timelines and so knowing at what stage in the immigration process a person is in can't be determined.

Have you submitted the following:

1) Affidavit of Support

2) DS-230 (Part 1 & Part 2)

I can only say from my own experience...the time frame for a CR-1/IR-1 takes about a year...from start to finish. I started the process on December 28, 2006 (when we filed the G-325A - Biographic Page) and our case was transferred to the Embassy (for the scheduled interview) in January 2008. Even after the interview (which was sucessful) we had to undergo Administrative Processing, which was an additional 3 months waiting before getting the actual visa in the passport. Tammy and I both had similiar time lines, but she and her husband are STILL WAITING for Administrative Processing to be completed (8 months and waiting)! Believe we have all been through the torture of waiting. Poor Wahrania on the MENA board is going through quit difficult time being pregnant and alone while waiting for her husband to get his visa.

I think given the reality of the time you may have to wait for the government bureaucracy to go through the motions, it would be better for you to be there for the birth of your baby. Since you do not have any family to help you, then yes, of course, you will also need to travel with your wife for the interview process.

(For me it seems strange for an Indian to have no reliable relatives to assist in such a circumstance because my experience is Indians usually have big families and normally the Daughter in Law lives with your parents/your house)

I had asked on another post whether or not you are a US citizen. My reason was that if you are, you should check into finding out about getting your baby's birth registered with the US Embassy and get US citizenship for the newborn.
