How long does NVC take to process the I-129F petition?

Hi all,

Our case (I-129F for K-3) was approved on May 5 by the USCIS. However, when I call the NVC automated response system (603-334-0700), it still says that there is no record. I start getting worried. How long does it usually take for the NVC to receive the approved petition from the USCIS? Can anyone give me advice on what I should do now?

Thanks.

Typicaly NVC takes 2-4 weeks to process an I-129F after they receive it. The time from NOA2 to NVC tends to be about 2 weeks.

Note: The automated system will not have information for I-129F petitions, you need to talk to an operator.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Thank you very much for your response. After I read your response, I talked to an operator. He said that I just need to wait up to 90 days, which frustrated me a lot :crying: Hopefully, NVC will process our case a little faster.

Hi Jina

Seems like we may be in the same situation. Our I-129F was approved on May 7th and we are also still waiting for our case to be forwarded to the Embassy in Islamabad. I called the NVC several days later and was told that our case was forwarded to Washington DC for administrative processing and when I asked how long this would take, I was told there is no time frame. Then, I received a letter from the NVC dated May 15th that said our case was being forwarded to the embassy within a week, but when I contacted the Embassy that had no record of our case. So I called the NVC, again, and was told that our case is still in administrative processing and the letter I received meant nothing. I then asked how would we know when our case is ACTUALLY forwarded to the Embassy and was told that I "may" receive a letter from the NVC telling me our case was forwarded. I already got that letter and our case was NOT forwarded to the Embassy. This is very FRUSTRATING, as I watch most everyone else move very fast through the NVC and it appears we have hit a wall. :crying: I too, HOPE, that the NVC will process our cases faster.

peace

Kris

Hi guys!

My process (both I130 and I129F) were approved on May 15th. I tried the automatic system at NVC and it mentioned about my I130 but nothing about my I129F (it took them 2 1/2 weeks to receive my processes).

I called and spoke to an operator yesterday, she said that NVC DOESN'T PROCESS I129F's. So, the same way it comes in, it goes out. I asked that question because I had the same doubt.

She mentioned that they mailed my husband the CR1 bill and also sent my I129F to the Rio de Janeiro Embassy. I then asked why would they process both my I130 and I129F and she said I could choose. If time was a matter to me, then my husband SHOULD NOT pay the bill he was to receive by mail from NVC and just let the Rio Embassy go on with my case. But she brought to my attention the costs for AOS.

If time was not an issue but money was, then I should forget about the I129F and pay the bill that was sent to my husband and go on with the process at NVC.

Try calling them and speking to an operator every 2 days. They are the only ones that can inform you about your I129F!

It took them 2 days after they received my I130 to have my I129F on the system!

The NVC does not process the K-3. It only assigns a case number and then ships it to the Embassy. Then the embassy takes it from there. Try and see if you can talk to a person at the NVC because it is possible that they already shipped your file to the embassy. I did a K3 back in 2008. It only took a week and a half for the file to get to the embassy. Then I called the embassy the next day and they were kind enough to email the packet so we could get started on the medical stuff. I had my interview within a few weeks after their receipt of the file. Don't settle for one answer.. call a few times if you have to. There is a way they used to track the file on its way to the embassy via DHL... I forget how they used to do it... Do a search on VJ... I'm sure you will find it.

hello everybody, can some one please who filed 129F form in May if he heard anything from uscis about the interview and thank you

You will never hear anything from the USCIS about an interview if you sent in a petition for a fiance or spouse. The USCIS only does interviews for adjustment of status cases.

For an I-129F for a fiance visa, please see that forum on the process and procedures.

For an I-129F for a spousal visa, the case goes to the NVC where it receives a case number. The NVC forwards it to the appropriate embassy or consulate where paperwork intake happens and the interview can be booked.

Thanks for your respond I appreciate it, I meant NVC, but it has been more than 5 months now when I applied for it but when I log in uscis to check my status it still under initial review that's why I'm wondering if somebody who applied in May heard anything anything from NVC

The online status will stay "initial review" until you are approved. We don't get the luxury of being updated every step of the way. AFTER your file is approved, it will goto NVC.

The previous poster is correct. It will say initial review until there is a decision or a request for evidence.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
