A lot of people who support Obama on this board have stated before the primaries that they would support a Republican or a third party candidate if hillary was the candidate. There is a divide and it definitely goes both ways.

I'm not sure I understand that - HC has a lot more (politically) in common with BO than McC does.

Clearly its personal, rather than political. Which is just strange.

It shouldn't be a popularity contest.

I would say it's about personality. Which is kind of ironic when Democrats accused Republicans with regards to Bush.

True - but that seems a very dodgy way of electing a President. Its interesting really that when you look at the candidates, and the amount of dissatisfaction on both sides - noone is going to be 100% happy, regardless of which candidate ends up winning.

Many dem. were democrates before hillary and obama ever began this race. and we should vote democrat no matter what. And we need to remember that both hillary and obama share nearly the same views. In the midst of the anger we need to remember who would we be voting for, if anger forces Hillary supporters to vote for Mccain.

to me a politician is politician no matter what side they are on.. they are all the same

McCain doesn't seem to have one - except that one Reinhard coined: McSame.

What you should be asking, Marylin.. is why do Obamabots mention, on average, they'd support Hillary if she were the nominee, more than Hillbots do the same for Obama when he actually becomes the nominee when both stand nearly identical on the things that matter- issues?

Yes I think this will be the case. Hillary herself can't be as silly and petty as some of the members of her campaign staff and their tactics. Her political future is at stake.

Tis true, I'd get behind Hillary if she were the nominee. *shrug* I've been pessimistic since the beginning though. I don't think McSame is beatable regardless if it's Obama or Hillary.

It would not be false support, because Hillary and Obama's goals are nearly identical. McCain is a far left from either of them.
