I couldn't find anything significant on any of my husband's email addresses or mine. We both used to have myspace accounts but we deleted them over a year ago. Those didn't even show up. My husband and I discussed all the sites we had joined at some point and deleted the old ones. Maybe that makes a difference, I don't know.

I found a Hi-5 page of mine that I didn't even remember having -- signed up years ago and added a couple of acquaintances but never really used -- but it says my address has only been in use for a year, which is wrong -- that address is close to ten years old and the Hi-5 page is several years old. I also found my Amazon wish list, which I had forgotten about, also at least a couple years old. If someone just plugged in their e-mail address in order to access something they were curious about, it doesn't necessarily mean they were a long-term or regular user. And e-mail addresses do get stolen and passed around. Hubby has had that happen with an old address in the past -- someone watched over his shoulder in the cafe and snagged it, and he eventually had to stop using it altogether because they caused so much trouble with it. So I would suggest that anything you find be taken with a grain of salt. I'm sorry to hear that some folks have found serious information.

That's exactly what i found out but didn't discover it was "stolen" until this morning.... all night i grieved. But it took him giving me his password to his email... going to the site and changing the email and password cause he didn't know that it even exsisted and than i found all emails and notices were going to another email address... so i went back to hubby's list and found one of his friends is pretending to be him.. pictures and everything.

My husband realized who this person is and now he is gone to "take care of him" because he is "Arabic and he {the email theif} won't be missed."

I have since changed the profile to coming to me and my email and will know when that man comes back on. Apparently it does happen ladies... I found the evidence and I am not an easy one to convince.

now i can't sleep cause i am worried what my husband is doing to the theif....

Information like this can be a dangerous thing because it doesn't always tell the true story. Websites are designed to grab our interest and gather our personal details, and something innocent can end up looking so bad. Thanks for this site, though. It let me know to clean up that old Hi-5 space. And I'm glad my Amazon wish list didn't have anything more personal than a dictionary and a book on interior decorating!

you made me laugh... thank you... so did you get th dictionary????

I guess it's good to check your own information, but I know I use a "fake" email for myspace and facebook. I don't use my regular email address, just one I set up specifically for that stuff. Could be the same with other people.

Rapleaf only has access to a limited number of social networking sites (amazon wishlists, facebook, myspace, that kind of thing). So, to respond to GG, rapleaf won't bring up porn sites that one subscribes to.

If you have time, do read this article: http://news.cnet.com/At-Rapleaf%2C-your-pe..._3-6205716.html

Rapleaf if essentially collecting personal information, in some cases by breaking into websites' protected database.

well one thing i didnt like when i checked myself was that one of the sites i use for graphics and yes it had pics of me too because i had used it at some point to do something to a few of my pics......well it showed up and allowed my pics of ME to be seen by anyone that would have that site to check on people.........i deleted the account.........but now it makes me worry for many reasons........my work is private and protected by copy write but if anyone can get into those sites my work can be used over and over again by just about anyone.........guess its time to invest in a bigger hard drive just for my work i wont last as a graphic designer if its that easy to steal someones work and if perviz had seen my face on the net i dont know what he would have thought

so i can truthfully say that site has helped me today in many ways one i found out perviz is clean two i found out that my face and my graphic designs were available to anyone with access to that web site with or with out password

I did my husband's but didn't find out much, just his face book and some other myspace, I did mine and his looked like mine, not much activity. Give me example of something that is shocking, like a web site that is bad, I am not so knowable on you know the bad bad sites. This is what came up on my husbands email, let me know if this is really bad.

Right. Your work is accessible *through* rapleaf. In other words, it's rapleaf that digs up your password-protected content and makes it easily available to anyone. I have no personal vendetta against the website, but it irks me that they present themselves as a "tool" to help you manage your online image, blah blah blah, when it is them who create the problem by exposing content you intended to keep private.

Ya i bought my husband a laptop and basically forced him to use the internet - its good not to get hooked on this kind of thing. I have had good internet all me life and i didnt abuse it. its best to have privileges and not abusing them.
