I live in Seattle and I´m wondering if anyone has found Peruvian ingredients in the supermarket or specialty stores nearby. I know there are some stores in Florida and California, but those are a little out of the way.

For example, I would like to find Peruvian "limon", choclo, canchita etc.

Thanks!

We live in Florida and use regular limones. Choclo and canchita we can only find at the Mexican store... when we go back to Albany NY I am not sure what I will do not having my Peruvian food very close by :(

In New York there is a chain of supermarkets called "compare" pronounced en español... and there you can find anything from south america /carribbean. They have a whole section from Peru and the Andes. I buy my canchita there, hehe. They also have the chelas, like Cusqueño, Cristal, or Brahmas. They EVEN have Inka Kola!!!!

There's also a lot of small bodegas that have food from Peru, but they're mostly in the city and in New Jersey. There's a restaurant called Pio-Pio in Jackson Heights, Queens that has pollo a la brasa and so much other delicious Peruvian stuff.

So COME VISIT ME in New York. Oh and if you miss Peru a WHOLE LOT, go to Paterson New Jersey for a while, lol, it's like exactly like Lima. Everyone is Peruvian, you'll love it. I go there every once in a while, it's an hour and a half from my house. It's awesome. That's where the Peruvian Parade is by the way too (on their Independence Day)
