Great response by Krikit. In addition to her #2 pint, one can hit REFRESH, and the exchange rate may go up, down, or stay the same, its a tiny change if any, but can be kind of fun,lol almost like gambling, and off course one doesant have to accept that rate, one can just cancel and try again at a later time. Im going to be using it this week to send $$ from my USA acct to my Canadian one, as Im heading home for 3 weeks.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Hmmm I just recieved an email from paypal to inform me that they will be introducing new policy in July that means there will be no fee for recieving funds if the transaction is designated a Personal Payment?

Do I understand that correctly in thinking that if I were to try and make a Uk to US transfer using paypal, there would be no charge? or would there be a charge to me as the sender in the first instance? I appreciate that my US bank will most likely charge for recipet of funds,

will paypal charge for the sending of said funds to my US bank?, or am I completely wrong in my understanding of this new policy? does anyone else have an understanding of how it might work?

"no charge" is a relative term. if one company offers a much better exchange rate than another, then the company offering the less favourable exchange rate is effectively charging you for the transaction.
