Domestic travel in married name

So far my wife has a SSN card and driver's license in her maiden name and a credit card and joint bank account in her married name. But only the driver's license is a photo id. Can she travel domestically in her married name? Will she be asked for a photo id on the airport?

I travelled with my maiden name since I don't have any ID in my married name yet. And they just look at my passport id page. Good luck! :yes:

June 1, 2007: GC arrived! Yippy! USCIS Free for 2 years!
2008: Moved to China
2009: Conditional GC Expired and Husband has been having affairs since 2008 in China. Can't file for ROC since he got laid off. He came to Jakarta to live with me and my parents. He got a new job. Life resume to normal or so I thought.
March 2010: Officially separated after yet more affairs exposed just a day after my birthday!

February 2011: Officially divorced.
June 18, 2011: He married the girl he had the last affair with.

August 2014: I am engaged with my real soulmate. Not an American.

I would suggest that you use her maiden name if your wife will use her driving license as proof of ID since it's in her maiden name. When I travelled to Houston last March I booked all my tickets using my maiden name.

She absolutely will be asked for a Photo ID at the airport... Her ticket must match the name that is on her photo ID.

use the maiden name.

But, if you bought the tickets in her married name and have only photo ids in unmarried - better talk to the airlines now and carry the marriage certificate if complicatons arise. Good Luck

Yes, I'd check this out ahead of time with the airline. Obviously, a photo ID is needed to get through security. Don't know what weight they give to the marriage certificate.

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

thanks for the replies. I figured her married name is her real name now so I had booked the tickets in her married name. I called up Expedia yesterday to change the name to maiden name, they kept me on hold while they rung up the airlines then said that the name change on ticket won't be necessary, just bring the marriage certificate along with the photo id. Hopefully we won't have any issues at the airport else its a long drive from new jersey to florida and the tickets are non-refundable.

You may be asked to pay a name correction fee at checkin.
