Instead of running Obama on the issues (where he is losing on many counts) your just hoping the Bush's lack of popularity will somehow rub off on McCain. It shows the lack of depth of your candidate.

That coming from you, Gary is quite funny. You outnumber anyone here with anti-Obama threads rather than coming up with pro-McCain material. ;)

I don't think either candidate has much 'depth' in terms of real policies. Again, if perception is the key, I believe Gary has a good point. McCain doesn't represent the same face of Republicanism to everyone. If it simply is a choice of 'we need to change to Dems because the Reps have had their turn' then it wouldn't matter who got the nomination.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

If the economy fully recovers by November, Barack will be in trouble.

Nonsense. The White House belongs to the Democrats this time.

Well, it's over. Everyone can relax now. Steven has made up everyones mind for us.

Don't give me credit for it. You can thank your homeboy, Gee Dubbya Bush and Co. for the landslide victory the Democrats will have in November - whether it's Barack or Hillary.

Right - because that's what happened in 2004.

A lot has happened in 4 years.

We can all relax I said! Steven has called the election! Lets just swear in Obama now.

The writings on the wall, Gary. I'm sorry that your boy Dubbya ended up a miserable failure of a President but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Your also counting on McCain = Bush. That isn't the case. He is very different and people see that. Instead of running Obama on the issues (where he is losing on many counts) your just hoping the Bush's lack of popularity will somehow rub off on McCain. It shows the lack of depth of your candidate.

Not just that, Gary ...the conventional wisdom is that whoever the sitting President is - if his approval ratings are low, his Party takes the blame. Whether you think that is fair or not, think about it - the Republican Party nominated Bush as their candidate and he's been a miserable failure. There are many Republicans who feel their Party failed them with Bush. Party loyalty is not water tight ...in fact that's how both Reagan and Bill Clinton got elected...from crossover voters. The sentiment has bled into congressional seats as well - as indicated by some upsets of longtime Republican strongholds being won by Democratic candidates. I know you don't want to hear from me, but read what many Republican strategists have been saying. I think you'd do yourself a favor by accepting that we're going to have a Democrat in the White House for the next 4 years as well as control of Congress.
