If the economy fully recovers by November, Barack will be in trouble.

Even if it starts to recover and people are feeling better he is toast. But even without that every poll shows Americans trust McCain more than Obama on the economy. Raising peoples taxes isn't a popular way of gaining support.

I'm not running against anyone. So, obviously, I can't lose. McSame has to pull of a miracle in order to win. That is unless Hillary helps him into the White House in preparation for her 2012 run that she otherwise wouldn't be able to attempt. Funny as it seems, McSame's only way to the White House is one that Hillary could - and maybe would - pave for him. On his own, he doesn't stand a chance.

The trouble is Obama's definition of "rich". Anyone making 100K or more is in for higher taxes under Obama.

True - he wants to eliminate the cap on social security taxes which effectively raises

the marginal rate by 6.2% on taxpayers making over $100K

How is it fair that certain passive income (read dividends) is taxed flat at 15% while earned income and other passive income (read wages and interest) is taxed at rates up to 35%? How is it fair that a tax system allows a billionaire to pay a lower effective tax rate then the rate his secretary has to shoulder?

I don't know anything about dividends and all that. I am talking income tax. When you get a raise sometimes you also get a raise in the amount the govt is taking from you, which is stupid IMO.

It's fair because the billionaire pays his secretary's salary. Some billionaire (or millionaire)

is probably paying your salary as well. Start taxing them to high heaven, and they might

just pack up and leave.

Why should the rate be higher? Because he makes more than his secretary he pays more. The higher rate is nothing more than social engineering through the tax code. It is also punishing people for being successful.

Thats the wrong question, the right question to ask, would it be fair for a poor or middle income family to pay most of thier income in taxes?
