Hi Nich and everyone,

Thanks for the info Nich. Each answer I get about that question 11 gives me the opposite answer. I can't do anything about it at this point, because I could not possibly get another I134 to him by Thursday. We are just prepared to get a temporary rejection I guess. I have decided not to stress out over it anymore, because of the negative feelings that stress brings over me.

Nich, it sounds like you are having a wonderful time with your new hubby and your daughters. I did not watch SYTYCD this season, but I love that show.

Today was a great day for me, and I hope everyone had a great one too.

Take Care All

Hi kids! Looks like the "other" March group is moving along and busy with plans. Just checking in on you guys. I did a fun thing tonight. I met my daughters in Houston at the So You Think You Can Dance tour. Don't know if you watched that show, but we did so it was fun to see all the dancers in person. Had to leave my new husband of 6 days home. We bought the tickets ages ago and I had no idea I'd be married by now. He was fine with it and entertained himself going shopping for things and browsing around places.

Stevi, the interview will be fine. They just chat a little with no hard questions about your family. How did you meet? What does your fiance do? When is the wedding? Easy stuff. I went, but didn't do anything but sit in the waiting room working Sudoku puzzles. I didn't get to participate in any way. I'm wondering what you put on your I-134 question 11 I think it is. It's the part about I will or I will not provide specific support and a place to list specific ways you will support him. Have you read recently about people having problems in London by doing it the way the VJ example says? They want you to check 'I will' instead of checking neither.

I was reading above about the bank information. We didn't do anything from the bank and didn't have a problem in London. Just 2007 tax return and letter from employer stating salary...that was it.

Well, good luck on the interviews coming up. It's an exciting time to be so close to the finish line.

Hey Nich- we haven't really talked at all during this process, but I just thought I'd say that I'm so happy you are with your husband and everything is going well for you!

Everything is fine here. Angel will be at his medical in two weeks. Everytime we talk we just say how we just need to KNOW if he has the visa. Once we know, I can't even imagine how I will feel. Happiest girl in the world, perhaps? :) Absolutely. He's nervous, which doesn't make me less nervous. But I have faith that he'll get there just fine and everything will go smoothly. I've got about 1 million people praying for him, so that should make him feel better!

Happy Monday everyone, hope all is well! Stevi- I'm looking forward to your happy post on Thursday!!!

Caity

Happy Monday everyone...and to anyone in Canada, Happy Thanksgiving :D Thanks for the help with the bank info gals. She did indeed call the 800 number and explained everything, and they told her what she needs to ask for. HOPEFULLY will have it tomorrow and all of the other papers also. She is the busiest person I know and trying to get all the paperwork from her has been months in the process, lol. But I dearly love her for being our co-sponsor when no one else would, we will be together because of her.

Stevi..getting SO excited for you, I can imagine how you are feeling. Praying for you!

Caity...I know EXACTLY how you feel. David and I say the same thing....things will be SO much better when we KNOW he has the visa. No more "if's"...it will only be when!

As for us, David absolutely cannot get into his Dr.s office any sooner than November 7th for his shot. So much for getting some sort of preferential treatment. So his medical is still not technically "done". My second call to the DOS on Thursday was a bust...still no appt. scheduled  I really hope this Thursday will be a different story. The weather here in So Cal has finally cooled down YAY!!! Check back in with you all soon!

Thanks Amy.....and it looks like you have all of your ducks in a row too. We have decided to hope (pray) for the best, but be prepared for the "worse" with regards to our I-134 question #11 dilemma. If worse does come to worse, it should be just a matter of sending in another (we hope). But many people have had no problem whatsoever with that question. We hope that we get an officer that does not "micro-manage" and ding us on that one. :)

I am waking up at 3am in the morning (which is Taiwo's 8am appointment time) and I will have coffee and prayer time as I await the verdict :(

I hope everyone is doing well. Wonder what Maria is up to. She has not checked in lately, has she? I can certainly understand why.

Until Later,

Stevi

Stevi- I probably won't be getting up at 3:00 AM, but I certainly will pray for Taiwo tonight and tomorrow morning when I wake up. :) I'm so glad that you he has his interview already, even with the whole Packet 3 ordeal! Please keep us updated (I'm sure you will!) tomorrow, I'll be checking when I have a spare minute!! I'm ready to celebrate for you!!!!

Good luck to you!!

Amy- glad all the co-sponsor papers are taken care of!! Hope David can get that shot soon. Ya know, Angel doesn't need to get any shots for his K-1, why is that?? Do different countries just work it differently? Everyone that has gone through Ciudad Juarez says that the vaccinations are not necessary. hmm

I hope he gets his interview date soon!!

As far as Maria goes... I have no idea why she hasn't been around- I mean, does she have better things to do now that she's married and her husband is here with her? just doesn't make sense :P

Have a good night all!

Caity

Hi everyone!

I'm also a March filer. So far I've only got NOA1 and one touch in on 21 August. Everytime I check the USCIS website, it says 'case received and pending' Will anyone please tell me if your case status changes when you receive NOA2? I have no idea what could possibly go wrong with my case :(

Visa delayed: HORRIBLE TREATMENT AT THE LONDON EMBASSY?

Posting this in Subbies/K1/UK forums under different headings:

He will have to get a new police report and a new birth certificate. (He just got the current ones 7 weeks ago, mind you.)

He arrived for his 8am appt at 7am. Everything was going smoothly with the submission of documents, then he was asked to have a seat, which is the usual protocol. This was 830am by then.

He sat and watched others proceed to their interview, get visa's and leave throughout the morning AND AFTERNOON....

He was called for his 8am interview at 230pm!

He was #2 to out of 16, and the second to check-in.

There were two African (Nigerian) men out of the 16. He watched and waited as ALL of the other people were interviewed. He was called LAST.

When he was called, a very "unhappy looking" American woman conducted the interview, in which she asked him intense, personal, deep questions, such as "What is the name of your fiance's sister's children's school?" :o She also asked the names of his fiance's 4 closest friends.....To each answer, she would stop and look at him for a very long time, then proceed to the next question. He had the answers to all questions about us and our lives, but he did not know the name of my sister's children's schools :(

He was well prepared, and all of his documents were excellent. Then, the officer told him that he would need to re-do both the Nigerian Police certificate and the Nigerian birth certificate. Why? we have no idea. Both were authentic and obtained the proper ways.

He is to get them and then arrange for the courier to pick them and have them delivered back to the London Embassy.

The words that my fiance used to describe the treatment he felt from the interview were "Disrespect - Degrading - Demoralizing"

I've never heard his voice sound so exhausted. He was questioned down to his very "core" as he put it. And spoken to as if he were less than human.

We will be okay - There will always be people like this in the world. We will just continue to do the right thing, and pray that our reward is just a couple of weeks delayed.

Thanks for all of the positive words that have been sent our way. I will update later.

Oh Stevi... I am so sorry this has happened to you and Taiwo. The kind of questions she asked are ridiculous, and have nothing to do with YOUR relationship. I'm sorry. How are those kinf of questions even helpful in the deciding process, and how would the officer know if his answers were correct?? I just want to let you know that I admire your strength and ability to think positively. I only hope that if something like that happens to us- I, too, will be able to stay calm and positive. I hope you were able to talk to Taiwo when he got back. I hope that he is able to get the documents requested (even though he already had them...) and this is just a small bump in the road and doesn't delay the process too much.

I'm praying for you.

Oh my god Stevi.....I simply cannot believe this has happened to you and Taiwo, what an outrage. Like Caity said, how would she be able to check the answers to such questions?. I can't say how sorry I am =( And why in the world would she ask for documents that were right there in front of her?!. My sincere hope is that when Taiwo goes back that he gets someone who doesn't have such obvious prejudices and everything proceeds smoothly...as it should have been the first time. I also think the way you're handling this is so admirable, I don't think I could be as calm. My prayers are with you both....you will succeed, I believe it! Hang in there!!!!

Stevi - I am so sorry to hear how horrible your fiance was treated. I will be praying for you both. As Caity mentioned, your strength is very inspiring. Please let us know if there is anything we can do while you wait. Again, my prayers are with you.

Hugs,

Jenni

Thank you all. I was strong yesterday, but could hardly get out of bed today....but I got up and thanked the Man upstairs for another day, and asked Him to continue to watch over us.

I feel bad mostly for Taiwo, because he has never experienced such treatment before. He has lived in London for 5 years, and the people there are completely different than "Americans" (forgive me for that). Before living in London, he lived in his country. So, imagine having your first taste of racial prejudice on the day you have been so happy, eager and anxiously awaiting for so long. He works so hard to have a comfortable life, and he spends all of his free time doing outreach work for his church. He is still trying to understand how people can have so much hatred inside of them.

And, the female officer ended by saying "You have a slim chance of getting the visa once you submit the documents." Now, what does that mean? It is obviously sarcasm, but that statement can mean a few different things. I had to try to explain to Taiwo what that sarcastic remark meant, not knowing what she was trying to imply. All we can do now is pray and say "how high?" when they say "jump."

I don't think I will be on visa journey this weekend. We are both just burnt-out right now. We will spend the weekend trying to assimilate everything and pray for that woman officer who obviously has a miserable life. How can she look in the mirror or even sleep at night, having such power to ruin the lives of others?

Thank you all for making us feel better.

Stevi

Hey everyone. I thought about giving up and letting this thread die... but I couldn't bear to do it. Stevi- I hope you are doing ok. Please keep us posted as to if Taiwo has given them the documents they requested and any other news you have.

Angel's interview will be in one week. He is more nervous that I have ever seen him be. He usually sleeps in any condition, but confessed to me that Saturday night he hardly slept because he could only think about his interview and he just got sick to his stomach and felt so nervous. I've done everything I can to try and calm him, but he told me tonight that it's something he just has to resolve himself... I just pray that everything goes well and next week comes sooner than later. I'm trying to keep myself as busy as possible so that Sunday will come in no time. (he flies out Sunday)

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. And be everyone, I mean the few people who are still around?? :)

I need to sleep. Goodnight.

Caity Rose

Caity, you are such a sweetheart. Thank you for thinking about us. I promise to keep you updated. I am excited about things coming up for you and Angel. I have just been staying a little low-key and posting here and there. The excitement sort of died down for us, and we are at a stand-still for a while. I am just catching up with things I have been putting off for the past few months. Again, thanks for keeping the thread alive!
