Hey Maria,

It's good to hear from you! I hope you two are able to find an apartment soon!! And once you do, you can decorate it and pick out stuff together :)

Angel bought his plane ticket to Ciudad Juarez for Sunday, Oct. 26. He'll have his medical exam on Monday, and then interview on Tuesday. He will leave Ciudad Juarez Wednesday morning. Right now he is trying to find out the easiest way to first GET to Toluca, which involves taking a bus, then a taxi/metro, then another bus... yeah. He got all the documents I sent him, so that's good. Now we just have to wait a month and we'll know our future :)

I hope that everyone is doing well, and that those who are still waiting for interview dates get them soon! And then our days of waiting will soon be over.

Take care everyone,

Caity

Hi everyone,

Sorry for not posting much lately. I am getting frustrated not hearing anything in almost a month, and London saying they have no record of receiving packet 3 back, even though we have postal receipts that prove they were signed for. We have both been emailing them, and Taiwo even called them, but was put on hold for almost a half hour on a call that is not free, because the London Embassy charges for the call. He could not stay on the telephone, because it was during his lunch break and he also ran out of cell phone credit during the call.

So far this week, he has spent almost 100 dollars (over 50 pounds) just being put on hold.

So, we are waiting one more week, and then sending another packet 3.

Although I remain hopeful, I have lost a lot of energy through all of this, and my spirits are down right now. I despise this whole process, but I will not give up or get too discouraged, because that would be counter-productive (right?)....

I get a lot of happiness just reading your happy posts. It gives me strength to keep on "keeping on."

I am so happy to read about your stories, and pray that everyone's dreams are fulfilled.

I'll stay in touch as time ticks along. Have a great weekend.

Stevi, sorry to hear that you have been having such problems lately trying to find out about your interview =( Did you end up sending another packet 3? Awful that you would have to do that!

I agree, I despise this process as well. There have been many sleepless and tear-filled nights lately. It's just getting terrible for me, for David and I both =*(

So the latest here is David went for his medical yesterday. All went well, but the one shot that he needed they didn't do there, he is to make an appointment with his doctor, apparently he will be given special treatment and given an appointment ASAP. When that is done they will fax proof of it to the Dr's office in Toronto and then they will mail the .....mysterious..... packet to David. So.....almost done with everything. Oh yeah, and I'm STILL trying to get all the documents from my friend, the co-sponsor....that's been a process in and of itself. *sigh* But, I can't say anything bad...if it weren't for her help, David wouldn't be coming home. Also I'm going to start calling the DOS on Thursday to see if Montreal has received packet 3.

Slowly but surely we are nearing readiness for that last final nerve-wracking, potentially devastating, but HOPEfully overwhelmingly joyous day of the interview and those wonderful words........congratulations, you've been approved.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Amy, I am sorry for the stumbling blocks that David has had to encounter, but it is still moving along, and you will soon look back on this as a bitter-sweet memory. After that, all you'll have to deal with is sweet, sweet togetherness.

We are still waiting a few more days before sending another packet 3, because we don't want to cause any delays by them having duplicate documents (not that we know anything about how they handle those kinds of things).

We are confused because DOS says that they (London Embassy) have the medical results, and the London post office shows receipt of the packet 3 documents being signed for by the embassy. Ok, so where the heck are they?

Oh, well......I have started taking on more things to fill my days, just to keep from going insane :) but we both have faith that everything will work it's way out soon. It has come to the point of if it DOES NOT work out, I'm packing my bags, he's packing his bags, and we will both MOVE TO AFRICA. So, even though it's tough, it is not the end of the world.

Good luck to everyone out there who have not posted recently. I hope everyone is ok. I continue to send many prayers up for all of you.

Until later,

Stevi

Well, we FINALLY have an interview date. He goes October 16.....

We did indeed decide to send a second packet 3, which they received on Thursday. It was the strangest thing....all night tonight (thursday night/friday morning), I have not been able to sleep for some reason. It is 4am here, and I had just been catching up on reading different posts here on VJ.

All of a sudden, my aol email "man" says YOU'VE GOT MAIL....When I checked my email, it was from the London Consular Office stating that they received our documents yesterday, and that an interview has been scheduled for October 16, and that my fiance will be receiving a letter confirming it.

I was in TOTAL SHOCK. It was like a miracle. I pray all of the time, but this was totally surreal, because it happened before my very eyes, while sitting at the computer hoping, wishing, dreaming and praying :) and there it came!

I immediately called Taiwo, who was already at work (5 hours ahead of my time). I told him the good news, and it seemed as if I could hear him shout for joy from my window....5,000 miles away!

Well, I think I better try to get a few hours sleep (yeah, right)..Just wanted to share the good news.

And by the way, apparently they DID NOT receive the first packet 3 we sent to them an entire MONTH ago (even though we have a post office confirmation that they did receive it). We have been waiting all this time stressed to the MAX.

So, now all of a sudden I have to rush and prepare to go to London in less than 2 weeks time.

VJ is the best therapy around! It has kept me sane thus far. Now, on to the next phase. I sure will be happy when ALL of this is over, but that won't be for a few years.....:)

HI!!!!!!! WE ARE NOW MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!

:dance::dance::dance: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

I sure will be happy when ALL of this is over, but that won't be for a few years..... :)

Great news Stevi!. I'm so happy that the end (of this phase at least) is almost here! Enjoy this exciting time =)

Have a great weekend all!

Thank you Amy.....

And I also wish everyone a very good weekend. I think I am going to relax more than I have in almost a year....or at least more than I have since NOA2 :)

Amy, any news on David's interview date? I hope it comes soon!!

I wish everyone a happy weekend. Angel flies to Ciudad Juarez in about 3 weeks, so we're just stuck waiting... like the rest.
