Count us in on the slow-down too. I had to re-adjust our timeline a little, because my dearest future husband sent the DS forms in separate from the checklist, and even though they were just two days apart, there was a holiday in between, thus I had to shift our sending-back date for packet 3 to Sept.4 instead of August 30.

Actually this feels eerily similar to the last waiting period we were all in (NOA2), so it's nothing new to us all.

But this is such a process.....

I'll continue to post, but as we said above, at this stage we all start to go separate ways, because our Embassies operate so differently and some of our friends are even awaiting their sweethearts FLIGHTS already.

We will have our turn soon

Angel received his packet 3 today. Although it doesn't matter much because I got it 2 weeks ago. But we were both very surprised he actually got it, because even when I send mail to his house and never ever gets there.

I'm sure I can... but I hate asking for days off..... that week we are having auditors at the bank.... so it's hard for me to get out of that. And i hate asking my supervisor for time off when it is so close. She is the best supervisor but I hate asking for so much. She already gave me a whole month off last year.... It's very rare I call in sick... but I just don't feel like it's the right time to get the day off. i'll see. Even if she says no it's ok.

How are you doing in your process???? Any good news??

Thank you, Maria...I'm really not worried about it, and so far, it is still within the normal timeframe according to everyone.

I sure have enough to do while I wait, due to the horrible weather yesterday. I will be doing yard work for quite a while. We had winds here in Ohio like I have never seen before. It is amazing how the after-effects of Ike and Lola could be experienced way up in these parts, but trees were blown down, people were killed, power was off, and it was a day I will never forget. I certainly cannot complain compared to those who actually got hit by the full force of those storms.

I just goes to show that there is a greater force in charge of it all, and when HE says "jump" we better say "how high?" I am humbled even more after that experience.

My prayers go up for all who were effected by the recent hurricanes.

Hey Maria- I'm glad you got Wednesday off :) How exciting for the two of you!!

My mom finished filling out the I-134 and gathering all the other documents needed because my parents will be co-sponsoring Angel. So, she will get that sent to me soon and I just need to get the I-134 notarized and then I can send everything off to him! I'm so nervous about sending all this important information through mail, and praying it gets there. I plan on using some sort of guaranteed shipping, but that can be so darn expensive, so we'll see what my more secure and cheap option is.

I'm still not sure when he'll go for his interview. I really want him to go on Oct 20 and 21, but he just got a new job in the government and things are kind of screwy right now with that (ahh gotta love Mexico...) so he wants to wait until he starts so he can talk to his boss and make sure he can take the couple days off. Although, even if his boss says it's not ok- HE WILL BE GOING. So... I just want him to buy the dang plane tickets right now so I can mark it on my calendar, instead of constantly wondering when he will go for his interview.

I hope everyone is doing well. I think I'm more impatient now that I was waiting for the NOA2. In fact, I'm much more impatient now. Maybe it's because we have control of this step (he can go for his interview whenever he wants) and so I just want him to do it.

Alright, well let's hope that everyone soon gets interview dates and that times doesn't drag by waiting for those interviews to come. Take care and have a good night :)

and Happy Independence to Mexico. hehe

HAPPY MONDAY!

I hope everyone has had a good Monday.

I managed to get Wednesday off.

I hope everybody is doing well. Everyone has disappeared from this thread. :( I hope that's a good sign. :)

Take care.

Glad to hear that you're OK and that all you have is some extra yard work to show for all that bad weather!

Alright!..got Wednesday off! =) How does it feel to know that your love will be home for good the day after tomorrow?.....I can't wait to feel that!!:dance::dance:

Update on me: We FINALLY sent out packet 3 today!!, David sent it express mail so it will be there Wednesday, and then hopefully we will hear something back in 2 weeks *crossing fingers*

I'm getting SO impatient....I can't believe I still have 3 more months of waiting to do :crying:

Amy (L) David

Hi All,

It is good to hear from everyone....

Maria, can you believe Jorge will be with you TOMORROW? That has got to be the most surreal feeling! AND YOU GOT THE DAY OFF FROM WORK!

Amy, congrats on getting packet 3 sent in. It feels good to complete that step, but it is at this point, when I lose it, because I DON'T have any more control after this point. I am a "control freak" and without any means of tracking and anyone to call (other than DOS everyday), I am finding it difficult, because I have been so consumed with this process for the past year almost.....same old story-same old song.

Caity, I commend you and Angel for being so patient. I know it is difficult, but I admire you for really timing everything to accommodate your situation. Is he just working to save extra money for when he arrives? It is nice that he has gotten a nice new job, BUT HE HAS TO LEAVE IT SOON....right? I am all for earning and saving money, but I sure bet that he cannot concentrate too much on the job knowing that his life is about to take a major change for the better :)

I can't believe that 70 percent of Cincinnati is still without power from Sunday's wind storm....Again, I cannot complain compared to the actual hurricane victims down South.

Nich, again I say that I am so glad that you are okay and that you still had a home to come back to. Your angels were encamped around your house fight off that mean "Ike".....and he sure was a meany! I had so many people in my prayers....

Well, I better start the day now....lot's of work to do.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone. I just have 45 more minutes until my "Great Daily Call to DOS."

Peace
