Nathalie got a call yesterday from the Embassy yesterday getting her police certificate. She called them back today...they needed to verify some information (parents, her name, birthday, etc). They said she can pick up packet 3 next week on Wednesday or Thursday. She is going for her blood tests and xray today. I believe she has an appointment on Friday for her medical.

I *might* have her call the Embassy tomorrow and see if she can schedule the interview without having the packet...since we'll pretty much have everything ready to go next week, I think.

Wow..things are moving SO nicely for you guys, how exciting for you and Nathialie!!!!. I wish that things were moving that fast for David and I, but he needs the next few months to save all he can, that's REALLY important.

I had to dig deep to find this thread! Where everyone go?

I just got an email from the Embassy with the scheduled interview date: October 7th! Yayness!

I realllllly want to go fly over... but I must teach.... technically I'm only allowed to miss one day of work. I'm going to check out the ticket prices and see if it's worth it to go Friday -- arriving Saturday, be there for support then fly back right after. I would miss a day (I'll be working M/W/F only)... hmm... sounds crazy huh?

Hope you guys are all progressing too! I drove 1.5 hours for a task that only took 10 minutes (picking up certified copy of my birth certificate). Luckily I have a girlfriend to lunch with near there! Speaking of the Birth Certificate.... there's people saying that he needs to have the original.... others says to just send him a copy of it. Whos right? Can someone (if got into the wrong hands) steal my identity with the b.c.?

Ok... seriously i'm going to check out the fares... maybe I'll just give it to him in person ;)

Hehe, yes it sounds crazy...but what WOULDN'T we all do for love =) Congrats on having an interview date already!!

HI everybody! it's hump day!!

Jorge is getting my wedding ring within the next couple of weeks! He has been saving for it  He asked me today that he needs my ring size by next Friday so he can get it ordered. He already has one picked out, but he won't describe it to me  He says "it's a surprise." I'm sure i will love it. He talked once about getting both engraved. I think he mentioned his name on mine and my name on his or something like that.

Tomorrow Jorge is going to call Juarez, even though I already did. He is going to get somebody different and ask a few more questions to see if there is anything else that I can do to prepare!!!

I'm excited again!!!! We are THAT much closer ya'll!

Much Love to you guys! :star:

(F)

Glad to see that you are feeling more positive Maria! I'm sure you will love the ring Jorge chooses for you, and I like the idea of inscribing each others names in the bands (L)

Ok.....Now that Maria is back to her usual, joyful self, all seems right again :D

I can certainly relate to moodiness. I am the same way sometimes and yes, we are females aren't we? We just get that way at times. But what would the world be like without us? GIRL POWER

I am wishing everyone a great day. The weeks seem to be zooming by. Time was standing still for months, and now it is going by so fast that it seems unreal at times. I cannot believe that Christmas is just around the corner.

Imagine how different Christmas will be this year for many of us. I feel like putting a tree up right now :)

As my Taiwo says each day "By the special Grace of God....."

Just fill-in the rest of that sentence with whatever your prayers are.

My prayer for us all is that "By the special Grace of God, we all enjoy good health, long lives, and much happiness & love with our husbands/wives/children/family."

Have a wonderful Thursday

Stevi

Your posts are always so nice Stevi, they make me feel calm and thankful =). I am SO looking forward to Christmas this year, it will be the best one yet!

So, I have called the NVC twice now and they still don't have my petition yet =( The first guy told me it could take 2-4 weeks. It doesn't really take THAT long does it?!. Anyway, back to packing and getting ready for my trip. Have a great day all!!!

Hello All,

I haven´t left... I just haven´t been feeling very well the last few days. This is my 7th time in Oaxaca (Mexico) and each time I get sick. In January, I actually spent a night in the hospital. I have no idea what I ate, but alas, again I am sick. So... I just wanted to say hi to everyone, and let you know that I´ll try and write tomorrow, hopefully I will be feeling better by then. Saturday is my birthday and I sure would hate to be sick!

Take care everyone!!

Caity

And Amy- have a wonderful time with David! I´m very excited for the both of you :)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Nathalie had her medical yesterday and everything went fine. She will be scheduling her interview on Monday morning and hopefully get a date for the following week. I got the I-134 notarized this morning. I'll be printing up all our paperwork and putting all evidence and such in a binder and sending it to her on Monday. So much to do...so little time.

We have a name for that illness in Texas. It's called "Montezuma's Revenge." When we go to Mexico, we don't drink water...only bottled or canned soft drinks and no ice either (because it's made from the water.) Brush your teeth with coke. LOL. Really. You could boil water 5 min. or use some kind of purifier. We also don't eat any raw fruits or vegetables. Mainly we only eat well cooked meals in the fairly nice hotels. It's just something we gringos are suseptible to that doesn't bother the locals. I don't get sick if I do that. Once in Guadalajara I was fine, until I just couldn't resist a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich at a little roadside joint. I could barely make it back through immigration at the airport. Had to lie on the floor right there in the line of returning tourists until my turn came.

O my goodness. That's awful!! It's scary sometimes. jorge took me to a restaurant named VIPS in Mexico City, and i cut little tiny chunks at a time (just in case) and the chicken in the middle was raw. BLEGH!!!!!!!! You have to be so careful eating their foods. I, too, would drink bottled water or canned pop. Even eating in the mercados scared me because they hang raw chicken out in the open...it just looks so unsanitary. It's weird because I am origianlly from Puerto Rico and it's similar to that but I have lived in Washington since i was 6 years of age so I'm used to clean water and food. Just be careful Caity :) I don't want you to get seriously ill ok? Take good care of yourself sweetie.

NICHNICK!!!!! I am so glad you stopped in here! Are you back home from your interview? Is your pumpkin in the states? Give us an update! ;)

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!! I´m feeling a lot better than I was- took some pills which I think helped. I never drink the water here, and my fiance´s mom disinfects everything and always usually purified water from the big containers. I used to eat lots of hot dogs in the street (I´m such a sucker for them), but in January I got sick (probably from that) and was taking medicine for it. I had an odd allergic reaction to one of the medicines and I had to go to hospital. No more of that!! I´m always very careful of what I eat now- but who knows what got me sick!!

Anyway, my birthday is going well- Angel´s parents are having a big party for me tonight (mostly all of Angel´s friends, so a lot of younger Mexican men... hehe) so that should be fun!! His family is always concerned with making me feel comfortable, happy, and at home, which I really appreciate.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, I promise that I will come back soon and actually respond to people´s posts!! I haven´t forgot about you, at all!!!!!

Thanks again :) Take care!

Caity

Well I have to check in on the other March filers. You used to hang out with us before you started this thread so I have to keep up with you and Stevi, my old friends.

I got home from two weeks in the UK on Thursday night. Nick has the visa in his passport. We have graduated!! He turned in his job resignation Friday, but has to work 4 weeks after giving notice. So that takes him until Sept 5 working. He plans to come in early October. He needs the 3 weeks off to get rid of things or packed. He's got alot of things that won't work on our voltage (or TV format)...plasma TV, dvd recorder, stereo, cappuccino machine, power tools...basically anything that plugs in except cameras and laptops (which are already here at my house.) He's been bringing things when he comes and I brought a big suitcase of his things back with me. If they had searched my luggage, I wonder what they would have thought about me having a man's suit, ties, watches...LOL. I'd say 3/4 of his clothes are already here as well as the cameras and laptops. But he still has a LOT to sort out and decide if it's important enough to bring. I still don't know when/where we'll get married, but maybe October or first week of November. My daughter suggested Halloween and we'll all wear costumes. LOL that you called him a pumpkin above. Perhaps a costume idea??

I'm really happy that you CSC people are moving on past the NOA2 wait. It gets busy and exciting. Congratulations to all of you.

Nich-O MY GOSH!! How exciting about you guys!!! I can't wait until we get together again. I miss my boo. I know huh - i used to go in that forum before, but you guys were all VSC filers, which is why I made this one up because it made me sad knowing you guys were so much faster than CSC. I didn't realize that there was such a difference, and really there is. You guys are ahead of the game! It does seem that they have kind of tied on processing times, though. THey caught up to each other huh.

I found an apartment you guys!! I might have anyways. i am going to look at it tomorrow on my lunch break. It is very cute on the outside, i hope so on the inside. They have a pool and a gymnasium and huge balcony, two rooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, dining room, living room, AND the most important thing======== they have full size laundry! I dislike sharing laundry...it's gross to me!:unsure:

I will try to take pictures tomorrow and post them on here so you can see them. It is 750 a month with 500 deposit. I keep asking jorge if its too much but it's not "that" bad. It's kind of expensive but really the location is perfect... and all the comodities it comes with. Jorge will be working right away. we have a job lined up for him until he can legally work in the US. He is going to be doing construction and receive paychecks in cash. I guess it's "under the table" but i think it is very helpful, especially when we need it. It's only temporary.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! I hope to be able to move in Sept 1 or so. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

I also posted this on the Juarez Embassy forum, but i want your opinions as well. I do NOT want to send my Birth Certificate through mail. SOO can i do this?---- my supervisor is a notary, remember i work at a bank....... so she's a notary. Can she "notarize" a VERY GOOD QUALITY copy of my birth certifcate and have Jorge use that? Would that be considered a certified COPY of my birth certificate? Does that make sense? Should i also do that for my Passport?

I hope everybody has had a wonderful weekend. i am going to visit my cousin Roy. He lives in Virginia and is here to visit for a week! I haven't seen him since i was 9!! I'm excited to see him!! He has his baby girl here too!!

Bye you guys!!

Congrats on the apartment find! I actually just went to checkout an apartment today and put in an application for it. I was hoping to get a two bedroom apartment, but the place didn't have any until the middle of September and I kinda need one soon if Nathalie is gonna be here end of the month. So I settled on a 1 bedroom. It's not super big...but it will be fine for a year until we get everything situated here. If all goes well...my move in date will be next Saturday.

I ordered a certified copy of my birth certificate a couple weeks ago...so I can send that original to Nathalie. I will also send copies of my real birth certificate...not sure it really matters though.

Hello all...

Glad to see updates on how everyone is doing. Nich, your process with London has been super smooth, I am getting nervous at this point for some reason. We are awaiting packet 3 to be sent to Taiwo, but we have all of the forms completed (The DS-230, DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157). I filled them on-line and sent them to him. He just has to wait to receive the actual packet and send them back in. I also have everything else completed. We are just waiting for the two Police Certificates to come back, but they should arrive this week or next week.

I am feeling nervous, because this process has been TOO smooth, and I don't quite know why there haven't been any problems yet :( I know that sounds strange, but for some reason, I am wondering if this will be the point when we encounter a stall.

I say this because we are dealing with two different countries of nationality. I wish our case was simple like a lot of you all's, but this has always been the point where I wonder if we will have any type of AP/AR problems.

Maria, congrats on the apartment, it sounds very nice. For that price, it is not too bad, seeing as though you have a laundry room, and two bedrooms. That is a decent rent amount in my opinion. Of course, I live in Ohio and you don't.

Josh, also congrats on your place too. I wish you the best of luck with getting it.

I am retiring early tonight. My favorite television program is on again.

Have a nice Monday everyone,

Stevi

Hello :) :) Tomorrow is Monday. Here comes another week! We are so close to half of August, and Friday is pay day for me YES! I posted this on another thread, i am copy-pasting here so you guys can answer me as well. It's about birth certificate conflict that I am having with myself-

Ok. Thanks! But I am still confoozled. What I have in my hands is my real birth certificate. I was born in Puerto Rico so I don't want to ask for a certified copy from Puerto Rico so it can cause weeks for me to receive it. Can I take my real birth certificate to the court house in my home town and they can provide me with a certified copy? I'm not really understanding the difference between certified and notarized Maybe that's why I am so confused.

I don't get it. i don't know why this is driving me crazy....? Is it possible for me to take my real certificate to the court and have them provide me with a certified copy? I think I am making this much more complicated than it truly is....well...that's so me!:whistle::whistle:

I am SUPER PUMPED about the apartment!!! I can't wait to see it tomorrow. i surely hope it is cute inside because it sounds like a good deal now, but gosh i hope i don't change my mind tomorrow. I will try to take pics ok. I'm not sure if they will let me, but i will sure give it a shot.:thumbs:

So I saw my cousin Roy today. He is so handsome! I told my dad that he is cute and he was like "MARIA HE IS YOUR COUSIN!" I haven't seen him in over 10 years so I don't remember him much. I'm not that stupid though, he's just cute! :bonk: Nothing wrong with saying that! I think my dad is handsome too! Is that weird? Well anywho. We had a BBQ and it was cool. I tend to be the fly of the family; I like to watch people and how they react. I am the youngest of the cousins and they are all in their late 30's; I am 21. I feel awkward because they grew up together around the same age, and I was always the baby that they knew they coulnd't hang out with. I am also the over protected one because of my daddy. i am the princess :innocent::lol: So it's hard when I don't really know my cousins THAT well. I love them, but I don't know them that well; therefore, I do feel weird at times.

I hope you guys all had a great weekend and enjoy the week!!

Of course, it's everything I want! But I am afraid it is out my price range... I can't make up my mind. I will post pictures later tonight. She is willing to wait until Sept 1 for me to move in with a 500 deposit. She is willing to wait for Jorge to move in later. It's month to month. Pool. Rec room. HUGE balcony. Nice big roomy closet. Carport.

AY AY AY

It's perfect, but it's 760 a month. I'm afraid that it may be a big risk.

Maria, I believe that the right apartment will come to you. There are a lot of things going on in your life right now. You are holding it all together nicely, and you have also gotten a nice pay raise through it all. Just continue to take one step at a time, and things will all fall into place. You have a good intellect and I have no doubt that there are really great things in store for you and Jorge in the near future. Peace
