GPS System?

ILL sell mine lol i hate it now. I have it on craigslist I will just stick with map quest and its a distraction for me i need to keep my eyes on the road.

congrats on the gps marylin! we have a tom tom too and it works great! except in Manhattan with the high buildings, there is no signal. but then there is now way you can get lost in Manhattan.

hmm, i was wondering about that.. our Sirius satellite radio cuts out when we go under a overpass... I wonder if the same thing happens with the GPS...

What happens when you take an alternate route on your tom tom? I'm just curious.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 and when I take a different route than suggested, it re-calculates. I don't rely 100% on it. I do lose signals at bad reception sites but it resumes pretty quickly.

the same thing with TomTom.. we tried it out yesterday.. hubby would turn down a different street then what the tomtom suggested and it would almost instantly recalculate...

lol.. now I want one too... hoping to get one once I get my own car... I am not quite comfortable driving around here yet.. I know my way around to the regular places i go but other then that I need a map... a GPS would be really helpful

With my hubby's new job he has to drive around LA a lot.. Today was his first day by himself and he got lost a few times ...

So we are looking into buying one of those GPS systems... I have been doing some searching and there are so many to choose from I have no idea which ones are good...

we are looking to spend around 100 bucks......

from my searching I was thinking Tom Tom or Garmin are good ones but then they have different models and stuff ... argh.. so confusing ...lol

Pedroh suggested I look at Buy.com and I have been looking there are bunch for around 100 bucks....

so I was wondering if you guys had any advice on a good one to get....

I'm only familiar with the Tomtom, and they are very cool. accurate and easy to follow
