I sent my I-129F to the Vermont Service Center two weeks ago and have not received any notification yet.

I understand that it was a holiday earlier this week but regardless I expected at least my NOA1 already.

I checked my bank account and my check hasn't even been withdrawn.

Does anyone know what could be up?

thanks a lot

Trevor

We filed 6 weeks ago and our check didn't clear until close to two weeks later. We received the NOA1 shortly after that. It seems VSC has taken even more time recently. I wouldn't panic just yet. ;)

okay, thanks a lot. Though it sounds bad, I'm glad I'm not the only one in that boat!

Trevor,

I don't understand the worry yet haha, its only been two weeks. Some people get their NOA1 like a couple days after sending it, some get theirs a month later, some two or more months later.

You have JUST filed yours, so no need to worry yet

You have a long road to go Trevor....relax. This is not a fast process at all.

You just filed, give it some more time.

The real waiting begins after you get NOA1. Patience is key.

Thanks everybody.

I had just been looking on this site's time lines and saw that the average person was receiving their NOA1 in about a week. so I did panic a bit.

I do know I have quite a wait ahead of us.

Looks like the average number of days right now to the NOA1 is 12. I remember when I got the hard copy in the mail, I realized that the actual NOA1 date on the USCIS receipt was a week or so earlier than the date I got it in the mail. The USCIS receipt date is the one I entered on the timeline. So if it's averaging 12 days, plus add on a week or more before you get the hard copy, then you're not really as late as you think. I know how you feel. Until you actually get some kind of verification that the process has started, you can't help but wonder if everything is okay. Actually you will continue to wonder that each step of the way. LOL

Good Luck!

Trevor, You may as well begin to learn patience now. You are involved with a slow and frustrating process. I went through it twice. The first time it took 9 months and ended badly. The second took 5 months from application until she arrived and we've been married for about 2 1/2 years now.

So, this will eventually come to an end. Use the time you have until she arrives to prepare yourself and your home for the best experience of your life. Keeping busy really helps to speed the process along. You might start with preparing the house since that could involve painting. Maybe you will improve your Russian or Ukrainian speaking skills. Start looking for stores that carry Russian and Ukrainian goods. This will really help her get passed some homesickness. If you can, try to find other American/Russian/Ukrainian couples, but concentrate on happily married ones.

Believe me, this does come to an end, just not as fast as you would like. We are now on the final round of removing conditions on her green card. So, have patience and faith. It will end and then the two of you will be together.

Did you send it through USPS with acknowledgment due (and certified)? If you do, you get the acknowledgment card back signifying that they received it. You should hold on to that receipt in case of a problem with dates and times (especially good during AOS and removal). If you did not do this - make a note to do it from now on.

This way you know that they have received it, and to see when the check has been cashed you can check with your bank's website. This removes some of the anxiety you may have with lost mail/packages etc. Good Luck

Thanks everybody for the posts. As it turns out my NOA1 was dated the 29th of may and wasn't mailed for over a week later.

And as NIch-Nick said, I just really wanted verification that the process started. I did all of our paperwork and checked it fifty times but still wasn't sure if I had messed anything up. Though this site made it a lot easier.

Once again thanks everybody.

Your NOA1 does not provide any indication that you did not mess anything up.... Your NOA is merely acknowledgement of receipt... the good or the bad news comes later

YMMV
