Yeh Yorkshire Pudding is next on my list, whilst my Mum's here

OMG these sausage rolls are delicious guys, they take just like they do in England!

Get the Jimmy Dean Sage sausage, it's awesome

You know if you got skins and stuffed that in them, you'd have British Bangers too!

Sausage Rolls (Dead easy)

1 Pack of any frozen Puff Pastry

1 tube pack of Jimmy Dean Sage - Premium Pork Sausage (I found this in Walmart & United)

Salt & Pepper

Milk

Method

Thaw the Puff Pastry and then roll out on surface, cut it right across the width into 1/3rds. Squeeze the sausage into your palm and shape enough to almost fill the centre 1/3rd of each pastry section. Place it onto the centre 1/3rd of the pastry and salt/pepper to taste.

Fold one side of the pastry over the sausage mix and then brush milk onto it. Bring the other side of the pastry up and over the one you just brushed with milk. It will now stick to this, then brush milk all over the whole thing and push the edges down a little to resemble a sausage roll, but leave a bit open in the centre.

Lightly oil a baking tray, whack in the oven on 325 for about 35 mins, you might need to turn them over once to stop sticking.

Enjoy!!

Awesome! Thanks for the recipe! The English husband better like it when he comes home from work!

Yummy! I'm going to have to make some of these some time... I haven't had a sausage roll in years! I wonder how they'd work out with turkey mince? The only problem with the pork ones is how greasy they are...

I mastered the Yorkshire Pudds the last two times I was in England. Made them for my Grandfather here that lived in England for 2 years during WW2.

He was proud!

ANd Chris liked them!

But I now have your sausage roll recipe and I think I will try it next week while he is visiting!!

THANKS!

I have never made sausage rolls with frozen puff pastry - I always make my own herb shortcrust pastry.

Half a pound of margerine, One pound of flour (rubbed together to form breadcrumbs), teaspoon of italian seasoning. Add enough water to make soft dough.

To make the sausage rolls really special, add some chopped bacon to the sausagemeat and diced onion.

Another recipe with sausage meat is Scotch Eggs - and they are so simple to make - wrap a boiled egg in sausagemeat, roll in breadcrumbs and either deep fry or bake in the oven at 325F (depending on how health conscious you are) for approximately 30 minutes. I make these every year when we have a Guy Fawkes party and the neighbours go mad for them! Great cold with Branston Pickle!

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

Actually they weren't too greasy at all

I agree....

I made them last night, the only thing was having a bit too much meat in them so one of them kinda split open, but they were very good. So here was the meal....

Sausage rolls with HP sauce on the side, chips with malt vinegar, and Heinz beans! hubster LOVED it and was impressed I'd worked soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to make the rolls... ;)

Yummity yumm yumm! :D

Thanks for the recipe.
