What do you need to do to get your vaccination history? Is this something we can do before getting the packet 3 in order to speed up the process once it comes? I'm sure mine wil be impossible to get as I have moved around the world and was not in Britain as a child. Maybe I can just themall again now?

I got mine early April but Im still not ready to return it yet - waiting on my vaccination history so I can book medical *sigh* and then tick box on IV15 checklist confirming I have booked it.

Also got to wait to get the cash for the medical - argh long story lol

Rebster - packet 3 has a DS156, DS156k and DS157 (men only)

DS230, I-134 (for petitioner to complete), medical questionaire, checklist..and...er...I think thats it...

I had a similiar problem getting UK NHS vaccination history as my old man was in the forces and I spent time outside the UK as an infant , tracked it down via the BFPO service, who then said as it was attached to his old army records it was classified !! whole process took months ! net result ....I had the ones that were "age appropriate" <cough> done at local doctors for free before attending the medical. <doh!>

I contacted my local GP - as Ive lived in the same area when i was a child for all my shots - but if there's no record of your shots then yes you can have them all again OR you can have blood tests aka titre tests - to show which antibodies you have present - which would show which shots you must have had (either that or had the illnesses).

I had to have polio and diptheria again in order to get the tetanus booster because thats no longer a single dose shot.

Another thing you could do, and yes do it NOW, cos it might take a while, is to contact the local health authority IF you were present in the UK for any shots.

From what you've said though I'd just get them all again - it'll probably be much faster and less hassle.

I would do that but Ive had ALL my shots in the UK so its just a case of waiting for my info to go thru the system.

(can I add grrr and ARGH here as well, as its taking FAR longer to get than I had anticipated)

Hi Jaylen Ihave already posted re injections because I was not sure if we needed the flu one or not.

We had the tetanus, diptheria, polio combined this morning but there is no history on the computer system of either of us having any shots. (it's been so long because Alan is 52 and I am 60 ) but accoding to the injection requirements for our ages, all we need is Tetanus and flu. I thought the flu would be seasonal??

I am trying to find a number for the Knightsbridge doctors, do you know it by any chance??

Me again.... I just found out the embassy specific website.. visa journeys has many layers of information!!! :-) and it looks like the only jab I need to have had are the MMR and TD (what ever that is!!??) as I am 31 years old. I have had the disease chickenpox therefore imagine that means I do not need the vaccination. Can anyone confirm?

The UK doesnt DO a varicella (cpox) vaccine but if you've HAD cpox you dont need to get a shot (have the Doc make a notation - hopefully you have a cpox scar or two you can show so they can write 'visible marks' on your sheet for when it comes to AOS)

TD..I think that one is tetanus..i had the DTAP (they dont do tetanus as a single shot any more either) and MMR as well at my local GP - both free.

Shots are NOT free at the Emassy docs, nor in the US - if you can, get what you need for AOS before you leave the UK
