God forbid we'd make rent money harder to obtain in the current economical climate... there are bigger issues at stake beyond the hysteria of illegal alien effects on a fragment of the US economy.

I thought this is a big issue.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Just to the Minutemen wanabes and those that would rather scapegoat the illegals themselves and not the actual roots behind it all. You know... the ones that would actually eliminate the problem in the first place if addressed with efficiency and a lack of realpolitik.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

To start you can stop scapegoating the symptoms as the clinical signs of th disease. ;)

Cure the disease, not the side effects.

It will be cheaper than plugging the borders with faulty equipment and expensive maintenance.

A fence is secondary to the drive to emigrate. You know that.

good fences make good neighbors.......to discount it is like saying banks don't need to be locked up.

no scapegoating happening here. people coming here illegally, working illegally & taking jobs for americans & legal immigrants is the "disease". cause of the "disease"----people not respecting the laws of this country & people willing to exploit them for their own personal gain. cure for the "disease"---make it all but impossible for either to happen w/ secure borders + fines, assest seizure, & jail time for those that do it or assist in it.

Problem is... I never said we didn't need a fence or no border security. :P

All I said was that the border issue is secondary to the causes that drive the need to cross to begin with. Its not about solving others' problems, but rather ensuring we don't exacerbate them any further on our road to seeking more profit at the expense of others.

When you get stuck looking at it from that end, you'll be fighting the 'disease' perpetually. Better to root it out from its inception, and that has very little do to with the actual presence of illegal aliens and everything to do with how we do business in their countries and perpetuate the socioeconomic inequalities that bring us more illegals.

Sure, handle the symptoms too, however, it won't solve the problem.

We already do. In that light its either STOP doing so or at least invest in making sure our practices don't harm more than they profit us.

mavi thats the problem i personally have w/ your arguement. "we" (the people affected by illegal immigration) aren't doing business in other countries or profitting from them. the corporations are, yet "we" are forced to deal w/ the affects of it.

Yes SMOKE I know. 'We' represents us since our economy is market-driven at this point in history. Furthermore, these companies represent our flag and thusly, us, and their business practices here and abroad are supposed to reflect our values as a society. Fair or unfair.

Therefore, its not that you have a problem with my semantics but rather its your lack of acceptance that those that establish nebulous business connections benefit their bottom line, in our name, and create a very nasty situation that leaves some people scapegoating the consecuences, not seeking to correct the causes of the problem in the first place.

At least we are looking at it from that direction. Its not about invading to make sure others do things right but making sure that our representation overseas doesn't create more problems that you very correctly indicate, are left up to our tax burden to carry. Coincidentally, many of these companies receive countless tax benefits to do business at home, deepening the rift. Go figure.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
