I just got back from my fitness assessment and my trainer couldn't stop going on about how well I'm doing. I'm so proud of myself. She could not believe I'd made the progress I had in just two months. After being someone that used to avoid exercise like the plague I'm so excited I've stuck with it and am making such good progress.

Pedro: You have to have southern caviar at your wedding too.

CONGRATS!!!!!!

I did my fitness assessment last night too! I guess I'm in superior fitness because I ran my mile in 6:13, I got to 100 crunches and they told me to stop because I was way past the top number, they also told me to stop on my unweighted squats because I got to 90 and I was way past the top number. My abs and thighs were a bit sore though! I need to get less hardcore about working out or else I will be able to kick Neil's azz soon

:help: You're scaring me!

I'm pathetic in the gym. I have strong legs (lots and lots of walking) and that's about it. I turn beetroot purple on the treadmill - it is so embarrassing. :dead:

Good thing I left out that I biked a large number of miles as well after all that

Normally, I don't run because it hurts my knees so I just went as fast as I could to get it over with.

I'm like you I have really strong legs and they're mainly from playing tennis my whole life, but my arms are kinda wimpy. I'd like a bit of definition in my arms :)

I like to keep in shape because heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes runs in my family. Women in my dad's family all tend to be quite overweight so I don't want to gain weight and then put myself at even more risk for the heart disease and diabetes and high blood pressure. I gained 30lbs taking steroids for my asthma and my blood pressure sky rocketed! It's back to normal now 115/70. YAY!

Good for you! (And for Booty!) Definitely the right way to go about it, and for good reasons, too; means you're far more likely to keep going at it. :)

My arms are wimpy, too; unfortunately they're also the place where I store my fat. So I have big and wimpy arms. I wouldn't mind them being so big if they had any sort of muscle definition, but they don't! Unfortunately until I can really reduce my body fat percentage they're going to continue to look big even if I have a good deal of muscle under the fat.

Well, you've inspired me to get going back to the gym again. I might have to finish off the tiffin that's in my cupboards first, though.

I am way off the charts on my crunches as well. I just do crunches, a 3 minute step up, and a sit and reach for my fitness test. Then she tests my body fat percentage, weight, blood pressure, resting and work out heart rate. My weight has stayed the same since the beginning, 110 pounds. My body fat percentage went from 27 to 24. My blood pressure is around 100/60. My resting heart rate started out at 78 and it was 66 today. Then my after work out heart rate started out at 150 something and today it was 114. It was 132 last month so she couldn't believe it had gone down by that much in just a month. My goal is to be able to run The Bear. I won't be able to do it this year but hopefully by next year I can.

My legs are my biggest issue. I have some pretty good guns. But my legs are taking longer to see improvement in. I gain all my weight in my lower half so I can see why that might be the case.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Screw this doctor stuff, I should just be an inspirational speaker because anytime one of my aunts sees me after I come home from the gym they are inspired to either eat better or work out that day. :P

If you're heart rate is lower you need to start working out harder or else you won't be hitting your target heart rate for the best results :)

I always want mine between 155-165

Yeah, she changed my routine today. She really upped it from what it was. She'll be out on maternity leave until late August so she gave me lots of things to do to add difficulty until she gets back and can meet with me again. I have been walking on my treadmill for 30 minutes with a max speed of 4 mph. By the time she gets back in August I'm supposed to be doing 45 minutes at 5.5 mph. The 30 minutes for me right now is a piece of cake.

A girl in my class this morning said that she thinks everyone should have free healthcare and free college because that's what we pay taxes for. She said tax money goes to nothing else but other countries so we are entitled to these things. I think she forgot about police, military, public schools, etc

I agree with Pedro that running in the woods is much more fun. I think the time actually seems to go by a lot faster with the changing scenery

Yes I know. But it's harder for me to keep my speed up when I'm just walking trails and $hit. It's much easier to keep the pace on the treadmill. Once I start jogging I'll move to trails and things because it'll be a more constant speed. Right now with my 30 minute routine I vary my speed from 3.7 to 4.0. It's hard to determine what that is when you're just walking on trails.

I'm starving. I took my lunch hour to do my fitness test. Now I'm sitting here with nothing to eat. I can't eat at my desk anyway so even if I had something I'd still be screwed. I feel like my stomach is eating a hole in my backbone.
